Seriously!

I'm a new member. So new that as of yesterday my name is in the sytem but not my points).

I wanted to take my kids on summer vacation and stay 4 days at BCV and 1 day at HHI (on the way home, to check out our other home) unfortunately, BCV is not available.

My second choice was BWV that's only available 2 of the 4 days.

OKW and SSR are available all 4 days. I stayed at SSR this past November on rented points and I really want to try somewhere else this trip. So SSR is out.

I really want to stay at BWV but my inner tight @** wants to stay at OKW. (I could do OKW and HHI on 136 points, which is also the same amount for just BWV w/o HHI) and since I don't have alot of points I know I should conserve since I need 60 points for a stay at HHI this September with DH. Conserving would eliminate me trying rent or do a cash ressie.

The other problem is I'm taking my two kids DD13 and DSS12 and their two friends (so it will be 4 tweens, me and DH). So I want a resort that they would enjoy so I'm not bombared with "there's nothing to do here", "I'm bored", etc. And I also want a resort that I can feel comfortable about them walking to the pool or going to the community hall without me.

Does anyone have any suggestions or tips about either one of these resorts? I really need some sleep.

I forgot to mention that due to the financial situation of the friends of my kids, we're only planning on doing 1 Disney park hopper day and 1 Universal day. So we have two resort/other days.

If you stay at OKW, you can have the kids go to the main pool where there is a great slide etc, and also a lifeguard, easing your worry. If they go to one of the 3 quiet pools, there will not be a lifeguard. That being said, I would not want 12 and 13 year olds totally unsupervised without an adult known to them in the area.

There are a lot of kids activities at the main pool and community hall where you could drop them off and they will be supervised by the program directors. This usually includes teen type music and dancing as well as games etc. The problem with OKW and SSR is that they must take a bus unless you are in a unit close to the main area (which you can request). If you stay near one of the quiet pools, there COULD be easy viewing of the pool from your balcony. That is the case with some rooms, but again, it would be a request.

At BWV, it will be more like you are in a hotel, but a very large one. There will aso be activities there, and the main pool has a great slide with a lifeguard, but again, I'm not sure about anyone under 16 at the pool without some sort of adult supervision. Here again, you could request a room overlooking the pool.

Your request made me laugh a little, because there is no way any of the kids I have ever taken to OKW or any other Disney resort would hardly have enough time to want to stay in the resort. They are always in the parks!

Our kids loved OKW when they were that age in fact preferred it to the BWV because it is like a small community. We always stay near Turtle Pond which is far from the main pool but they didn't mind walking or taking the bus. There are basketball and tennis courts, ping pong, and shuffle board. They actually preferred hanging out at the resorts to going to the parks. There is plenty or room outside the villa to toss a football or baseball. The size of the villas feels dramatically larger than BWV.
