Ok, Soooo I have been on this site since august. And you guys have helped me so much. So much and I thank you all. I won't stop coming to the boards after the 8th because I'm a disneyland freak and I still have gradnight in june so. lol I'm getting off my subject lol. I've got 12 or 11 days left before our DL trip. I'm so excited because this time it's the family and there going to be (Hopefully) Six of us. It's getting closer and closer but I really need your guys' help on this. What do you do to make it go by faster? Ok, so I'm a senior this year and of course I have to keep my grades up and stuff so I have been working and working so hard on everything everyday not only to keep my grades up but to make the days go by faster but it just isn't working. What do you guys do to make the days go by faster? I know it sounds silly but I'm hoping at least a few of you that read this will have some ways. lol. Thank you so much. Especially for reading this, this is the longest post I have ever made so if you read all of this, your an angel. I just want it to go by faster. Thanks again!

Love,
Katie

how exciting! just enjoy having only a few days before your trip, listen to all your park CDs, plan what you want to do and maybe what you want to get pictures of, and visit the disboards lots - once your homework is done of course!!!! :teeth: :earsgirl:

Aww, I was doing that last night! But it makes me cry. Just the music! lol. Yeah, I talk to my little cousin megan a lot about it. She's so exicted too. How fast do you think it will go? I'm trying to enjoy everything but I can't wait you know? :Pinkbounc

Sometimes it helps not to think about it. The more you think about it, the more the anticipation wears down on you. I can't wait to go again next Sunday, but I'm occupying myself with other stuff around the house, such as major cleaning! It'll be time to go to DL before your know it, don't worry!

Are those your kids? They are so cute. So like, stop thinking about it completely?

I usually use the time to plan out my packing, so i start putting out piles of outfits, toietitries, snacks, etc. Also, I use the time to make sure that the family is all on the same page about our schedule etc.
The I start working through my "to do " list like stopping the paper and the mail etc., and getting cleaning done so i don't come back to a dirty house. I am sure that your parents are taking care of a lot of this though !
Also most of us have to work "ahead" at work so we don't come back to too much of a mess.

I do agree though that the last few weeks I try and "cleanse my palate" by not doing anything "disney" and concentrating on logistics.

I'll try. But I find it hard lately. It's like my only peace you could say. I'm so stressed about my senior year. You know. But I will try it. Does that mean I shouldn't come on the boards everyday? Because I don't know how I'll be able to do that.

Hi Katie,

Play Disney music while you do your homework.

Have a Disney Dinner with your family. A mound of mashed potatoes becomes the Matterhorn.

Make Mickey pancakes for your family this weekend.

Get postcard stamps so that you can mail postcards to yourself while you are there.

Your trip will be here before you know it. ::MickeyMo

Hi Katie, Great name by the way. That's my oldest daughter's name, too.

Anyway, here's what we do in the days leading up to the trip. I went to www.mouseforless.com and printed out the countdown chain. Each night before going to bed one of the kids would take one of the chains off. They loved seeing the chain get smaller and smaller.

Also, we would watch one Disney movie each night as a family.

I make and remake packing lists.

On the weekend before we go, my kids and their cousins have a Disney party. They play the Disney trivia game, Disney charades, etc. We have a Disney dinner: Lady and the Tramp spaghetti, Alice in Wonderland teaparty, etc. You get the idea. For dessert my sister who decorates cakes makes Sleeping Beauty's Castle, and we all dig into it. Then, when everyone is full, the kids design T-shirts to wear. We get most of our shirt ideas from Family Fun magazine, but there is a great thread on these boards in the Cooking, Crafting and Scrapbooking section with some great iron on designs for T-shirts.

Well, those are some of the ways we pass the time. I could never NOT think about my trip to Disneyland. I'm just not built that way. Instead, I spend my time thinking of what I'm going to do while I'm there. I try to think of one new thing to try each time I go. This year it was the frozen lemonade with a shot of vanilla in it (way yummy, by the way).

Have fun! I'm so jealous that you're on your way. We just got back, but I'd like to turn right around and go back.

Glynis! I have started recognizing your name. Almost every question I have asked you have helped me and I thank you for that! You are so awesome! lol anyways. I'm so going to do that and I found a tape the other day that I haven't watched in a long long time, fantasia! I'm going to watch it at least twice this week! So yeah, I really appreciate all of the suggestions. I'm gonna get one of those chain things too lol. I appreciate it all guys. And if anyone has anymore things....

Hehe, no, the little boy is my cousin, Josh, and then that's me on the right. He was three and I was two at the time that photo was taken. And as for thinking Disney, you can still think about it. Just don't let it interfer with you school and other things. There's a co-worker that I can talk Disney to non-stop, and the more I talk about it, the more I can't wait to go Sunday! So, I tried to avoid the topic as much as possible. :)

::MinnieMo Hi Katie!
I remember how exciting Grad Nite was (and exhausting). Have a great up and coming trip.

I was just wondering, have you given any thought to the Disney College Program?

Take care,

So what is this???? :confused3 I've never heard of it, but now I'm dying to! Please enlighten me. :teeth:

Jusst like Glynis I watch DIsney movies. They can take a few hours out of your day. I'll be celebrating my bday while on my trip so I hope to get a few new Disney dvds to watch on the plan. Cinderella comes out soon!!!!!!!

I agree with trying not to think about it. I was really excited about our trip and could hardly think of anything else, then I got very busy at work.

It was much better to still look forward to it, but have other things to keep my mind off it. I still allowed myself a few minutes on this board every other day, but that was it.

I think for my personality concentrating on packing lists would really help. Like doing something constructive but still Disney oriented.

Thank you. I can't wait for grad nite! Even tho there will only be 15 grads going. (I'll only have about 23 in my graduating class. Small school I know. But it's pretty awesome. My mom works there, which is the only reason I go there anymore.) But Like Glynis said, what's the disney college program? I'm hoping to try and get a job at DL after I [hopefully] get accepted to FIDM (Fashion Institute for Design Merchandising) Is that what the it's for? Either way, where can I get some info about it?
