not even wired LAN in every room (yes, I'm talking about All Stars accomodations).

With everything high-tech overthere and from the minds of "let's charge the air our visitors breathe in, can we do that legally?", they still can get this one thing straightened out?

I can understand why you might want to go online in your hotel but are you honestly telling me that you would like to surf the net while visiting the parks? Please tell me I'm understanding you wrong.

Around the hotel, yes I want to connect, but around Epcot, it's just to educate the visitors about wi-fi. Imagine there is a booth telling people (just in a general sense) how the FastPass machines are interlinked together using Wi-Fi.

Well, it's a difference between having a 5-day vacation if I can not 'surf' the net (part of my job) or having a 20-day vacation if I can "surf" even just between 10pm to midnight everynight.

So, in my particular case, Disney is losing about 75% of my potential business.

Furthermore, if they have that option available, I can go to Disney more often instead of the twice-a-year thing I'm doing right now.

As far as nobody want to learn while they're on vacation... what's the point of having any part of Epcot then? Aren't they (in some parts) are learning materials? Such as history from Spaceship Earth.

I do too, but at the same time, if I can have a much longer vacation by only sacrificing 2 hours each day during my vacation time, I'd rather do that.

I know that it might be slower, but you can always use dial up. With a local # it's only a 75 cent charge. Beats the $9.95 that many hotels charge to use WiFi for 24 hours.

I don't think I would let lack of internet connection stop me from going on vacation. I do enjoy bringing my laptop to keep up to date-- but it doesn't decide my vacations for me.

Why don't you signup for a trial dialup? Many ISP's have free trials that you can cancel when you get home.

I'm staying at BWV next month and even though they have high speed internet, I think $9.95 a day is ridiculous. I plan on dialing up. Not on that much that I need highspeed.

The hotels do support dial-up service. If what you need to do is virtually attend meetings through chat, check email, or send documents, you should be fine. The only thing affected by the connection speed is browsing time and sending/getting large files.

I would also like broadband connections in the hotel rooms, and I am in a highly technical job where it's a big deal that I'll be out for 9 days... but dial-up works just fine. It just means it will take 30 minutes to take care of business items rather than 10 minutes.

I just stayed at the beach club villas and had hi speed internet access the whole time.
so its at least there
wi fi was available at places in the hotel as well.
it was around 10 bucks a day.

I just wish they had a weekly rate - at $9.95 a day I end up spending in a week what I would spend in a month for my DSL at home, T-Mobile, and various coffee shop hotspots.

I agree that a weekly rate would be good.

One thing that I read on these boards is that WDW doesn't want people hanging out in their rooms--they want them out spending $.
