Trying to crop photos that I took on the digital camera. NOT WORKING...I know how to change the size on the camera, but what if theyre already on the pc. The only editing I can do is like the paint and what not. have the software for the canon, but not seeing anything about changing the size (kb's) PULLEEEEASE HELP!1:lmao:

investing in a decent photo editing program makes it so much easier.. or download picasa it's free..

Is picasa pretty decent. I understand it's not PS or Apeture but will it help us newbies with some post processing without having to spend a ton of money? (and by a ton of money please undertand I am saving up to buy a canon 50 mm f/1.8 mkII:lmao:

Assuming you're using ZoomBrowserEX, crop is called "trim". It can be found in the "edit" menu, which is on the main task toolbar on the left, or up on the top in the picture viewer.

this is probably the best advice Ive gotten. This method is similar to the paint style thru the windows program..I guess I must have misunderstood the definition of cropping. I was kinda thinking I could change the pixels once they are on the pc, to make the same picture, with less bytes of info. But cropping seems to be just cutting out part of the picture.
Is there a way to resize photos, so that you have the same pic, but less info? I know its an option on the camera, but what about once youve taken the photos, and loaded them up?

I don't have Zoom installed but if I remember correctly, all you need to do is Export your photos. The Export dialog allows you to change the size, resolution and/or file format.

Yes, it is in the export menu (main menu on the left) you can change the size, type, and quality level.
