This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

I can't believe you are going again in December - how lucky is that!! Have you decided on a resort yet?

Hi Becky...Hope you've had a good week so far.

I saw this post and it got me to wondering if you'd chosen a resort for your Christmas trip. I know you love the Poly, (so do I), but I'm going to put in my vote for Wilderness Lodge. I think your girls would love it! :thumbsup2

Hi Becky! I know you used the VB hipster during your last trip to WDW....but was it the regular hipster, or the mini? How did you find it to hold all your stuff? We will still use our double jogging stroller when we go down in August, so I do have room in the bottom basket for our water bottles and juice boxes. But the past two or three trips I also carried a VB backpack and while I loved it, it was a little bit of a pain to always take on and off to sit on rides. I am thinking of going with a smaller bag like the hipster, but I'm not sure if it will hold enough. Did you carry your camera with you in your hipster?

I am loving all the new VB patterns...."Loves Me" especially!

Snowlady is adorable as everyone has said :) The Indian Barbies--gorgeous!! (I had to say too that Lilian has the same nightgown as Clair :thumbsup2). I am glad Brent got home safely and soundly and you had a great family day! Lilian did not have dance class this past Monday because of the holiday. She was so sad! We are looking forward to going back on Monday.

Ohh, how cute is that snowlady. I love the the little Disney things in it. Teachers always make the best projects.:thumbsup2 I used to teach K too before the girls were born.
I know it is hard sometimes when the hubby travels. My DH works for an indian company so he had to go there twice both for 16 days. That was really hard. Now it's usually Boston or NYC. He's been home for a while but this week he is going to find out when and where he has to go. He got a brief idea yesterday. He has to go to Salt Lake City in June so we are going to turn it into a family trip. I'm so excited for that. We'll get a backround that isn't the Epcot ball for once.:rotfl:
The Barbies are so pretty. I miss my days of having Barbie fashion shows.
Maybe our December trips will overlap. I'm thinking we'll go the first Thurs. to either Monday or Tuesday. I don't want the kids missing too much school. I still have to decide if we're going to do all the parks or what. I was thinking yesterday a day at MK, a day at Epcot, MVMCP our last night, and maybe the parade taping that day and possibly AK or DHS for half the day.
Just a thought- If you're going in May, December, and May '11 it pays just to get APs. In May '11 you can just go a week earlier like in '09. Also think of the AP deals on rooms. We got WL for 169$ with APs. Any idea on where you want to stay? We're probably going to stay at AKL. I visited it in November and it was just so pretty.
Have a good night.

That would be so amazing if we were there at the same time during the holidays! My biggest hurdle for that trip is time off from work. Since I work at a high school, the District wants us to be at work when the kids are there. But I recently found out that they are cutting back my hours starting next year by an entire month! They want me to take all of July off (unpaid), but they still want me to use all of my vacation time earned within the school year. I don't know how I am supposed to spend my vacation time up unless I use it during the school year. So hopefully I will be able to point that out to them and then say, "So I'll be taking a week off in November." We'll see how it goes. I will definitely keep you posted.

By the way, I went to look at your work website (which is VERY cute!!) and Dylan saw the picture of Ally on the front page and said, "Ooooooo!" I said, "Do you like her? Isn't she so pretty?" and he said, "YEAH!!" It was so funny.

Ah, what a wonderful mental picture.....:beach:
Your DD is adorable in your sig line! Love that outfit she's got on! Do you sew those yourself? We like to discuss customs, so if you have a good place to find some, please share!

Thank you!! I did not make the dress that my DD has on, rather I purchased it on Ebay two years ago when she was 4 months old for her 1st trip to Disney. She is now 2 1/2 and wears it as a shirt with leggings. I definitly got my monies worth! I wish I knew how to sew such beautiful things! For our upcoming trip in February, I've found many wonderful hand made clothes and items on etsy including personalized disney shirts, iron-on disney patches and hairbows!!! I'll be posting a trip report when we get back and will be sure to share pictures of my princess in her Disney attire!!!!

HI! Subscribing... I read your previous trip report and enjoyed it! Looking forward to reading about your trip and seeing the beautiful outfits your princesses are wearing!! We'll be at the Poly in two weeks... looking forward to the lovely site of palm trees swaying in the wind!!!

Hi Renee!!! And :welcome: to my PTR!! I see youa re from NJ--which part?! My mom and dad are both from NJ and most of my family still lives there! Glad you liked my TR!! :goodvibes you'll be at the Poly in TWO weeks--nice!! I hope you'll be writing a TR when you get back!! I need my Poly fix! ;) Have you ever stayed at the Poly before? BTW--your daughter is just PRECIOUS!! :lovestruc

Hey Becky, just catching up. I can't believe you are going again in December - how lucky is that!! Have you decided on a resort yet? We usually go in November so have seen the Christmas Decs on a number of occasions -they are fantastic! The castle itself will take your breath away. You must pop by the GF and see their tree and the Gingerbread house - amazing! Also try and do MVMCP - we went in 2007 and loved it!

Hi!!! We haven't totally decided on a resort but I wouldn't be surprised if we stayed at the Poly again!! :lovestruc Yes, I plan on touring the different resorts that have Christmas displays!! I cannot WAIT to see the GF all decorated!! :santa:

Your snowlady is adorable!

I bet the girls are loving those Barbies. They are cool.

Hope everything works out for your December trip. 2 trips in one year would be great!

Hi Janell!! Good to see you posting my friend!! :goodvibes I've missed seeing you on here! Thank you!! My girls are loving their Barbies!! And we are sooo looking forward to WDW at Christmas! :santa:

Becky- Are you watching the game? I am, and it made me think of you, so I had to come post. So far, we're not looking looking pretty. Certainly not like the #8 team in the nation. Regardless, I still wish Bruce Pearl could coach basketball AND football! :thumbsup2

No, we didn't watch the game. We are bigger football fans than we are basketball. I heard it didn't turn out in our favor anyway!! :goodvibes #8 in the nation--NICE!!

Hi Michelle! I am having a good week! However I still feel like I'm solo parenting--Brent can't seem to get his sleep schedule worked out. He gets home, eats dinner, and falls asleep on the couch!! Then he's up before the sun!! :confused3

We haven't totally decided on a resort for Christmas but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up back at the Poly!! :lovestruc I bet WL would be beautiful for Christmas!! I'm thinking of making my ADRs at resorts that I really want to see all decorated for Christmas--WL being one of them!! :goodvibes

Hi Jennifer!! I used the regular hipster on our May trip. Yes, it definitely held everything I needed plus more!! I loved it b/c it was hands-free and that I didn't have to take it on and off on the rides. It's definitely a GREAT bag for Disney!! My friend just bought a mini-hipster that she showed me the other day and it is significantly smaller. I might look into getting the mini for our next trip as I didn't carry much in my purse. I did not carry my camera in my purse--wish I could but it is a Canon Rebel and is quite large--we carried it in my camera bag. However, a regular point and shoot camera would fit into the hipster nicely!! :goodvibes

Thanks Stephanie!! :goodvibes Really?! Did you get the nightgown at Target?! Claire is obsessed with Minnie Mouse right now and never wants to take it off!! Claire was just moved to a Monday night dance class this week and they still had lessons even though it was MLK! I would have liked a break!!

Thank you Barbara!! :goodvibes I didn't know that you used to be a K teacher, did I?! How cool!! :thumbsup2 Oooh a Salt Lake City family trip--that sounds nice!! That would be cool if our trips overlapped!! Thank you for the info on APs!! It's really something to think about. I'm not sure if we'll go back to WDW in May '11, though. We were talking about going in October '11 for MNSSHP!! :goodvibes

That WOULD be amazing, Alison!! It would be fun to meet ya'll!! Yes, please keep me posted about your trip. Awww! Dylan liked Ally's pic?! How sweet!! That pic is several years old--could you tell?! I probably need to update it but it matches my site so nicely!! :goodvibes

Yes!! your daughter is just PRECIOUS!! I love her outfits as well!! :lovestruc I'm looking for someone new for customs (if you read my TR you know what issues I had last year--ugggh)!! I wish I knew how to sew--it would certainly make things easier!! :goodvibes You can find such cute items on Etsy!! Oooh--you ARE doing a TR?!?! Yay!! Be sure to let us know when you start it after you return! :goodvibes

Hi! I'm subscribing! I read about your other trip to Disney & loved all the pictures! Your girls are so cute! I'm thinking of starting at PTR also!

Hey Becky!! Well, started school again yesterday and I was looking forward to the Fall 2010 semester. Good news, it is my last semester before student teaching. Bad news, I will have to teach until the last day of finals--Dec 10. We are probably looking at the 12-15th for our trip. SOOOO wanted to meet you guys :sad2: Looking forward to planning along with you, though! And you can give me tips when you get back:thumbsup2

Came across your last TR a few days ago and now I've moved over to your PTR. We are going May 28-June 3, so we'll there a few days that you all are. Your girls are adorable. I have two girls too- one is 9 and one is 6. I wish I knew how to load pics, but I'm new to boards and haven't figured that out yer.

After seeing pics of you little Claire in a dance class, I am dying to put my Lily in one! I just have to find a program near me that has classes for 2 year olds!

Hi and :welcome: to my PTR!! Where are you from in TN? We live in Memphis! In terms of pics--you need to uplaod them to a site like Photobucket and then copy and paste the image code (IMG)!! I hope that helps!

After seeing pics of you little Claire in a dance class, I am dying to put my Lily in one! I just have to find a program near me that has classes for 2 year olds!

Oh you so should!! Claire LOVES taking dance!! :goodvibes

YAY!! Our flight is booked for our May trip!! We were waiting until Brent got home from India to book so we could use the miles. We were able to get 3 tickets with the miles and had to pay OOP for the 4th. We chose the same flight as last year--the one leaving the earliest going and leaving the latest coming back (to maximize our Disney time :thumbsup2)!! So we leave on the 22nd at 8:40 a.m. and arrive in Orlando at 11:41 a.m. My parents booked the same flight and my brother will be flying in from D.C. (his flight arrives about 20 minutes earlier so it will be nice to ride the ME to the Poly together)!!! Then on the 29th we fly out at 4:50 p.m. and arrive home at 5:54 pm. I'm sooo glad that we finally got this taken care of!! One more thing marked off of my list!! :woohoo:

:thumbsup2 I love how you think; fly in early --fly out late. We always price flying and I always choose the same early in, out late. We have yet to fly...just has not been feasible for the types of trips we have taken so far.

:dancer: ONE STEP CLOSER :dancer: May will be here before you know it!!
the girls will be so excited to fly with your parents that is great that you were all able to book the same flight!

Thanks Connie!! :goodvibes Great minds think alike!! :thumbsup2 Yes, I want as much Disney time as possible! I was also thankful that my parents booked the same flight! My mom was able to use a flight voucher which covered most of their costs!! Oh--and my brother got DIRT CHEAP tickets out of D.C.!! :goodvibes That just doesn't happen when flying out of Memphis, unfortunately!
