This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Great update Becky! Looks like you had a fantastic Christmas!!!:goodvibes

Thanks!! We DID have a fantastic Christmas!! :goodvibes

Cute photos! I am a Jim Shore fan to be sure -- didn't realize that he did so many Disney themed pieces! :thumbsup2

I bet May is a wonderful time to travel, weather is probably close to perfect!

Thank you!! I know!! When I went to the Jim Shore site, I was AMAZED at how many different Disney pieces he has done!! Yes, May is a great time of year to visit WDW (minus last year's record rainfall)!! :lmao:

I know how it is being subscribed to toooo many! I never give myself time to update my own posts! hehe

I love the CHEER outfit! soo cute!

I can't believe how ridiculously far behind I was. Good grief!

I'm all caught up now and there is just WAY too much to comment on! Your girls are gorgeous and all the Christmas pics are just priceless. (I've been following on FB so I still feel a little "in the loop".) Congrats on the Big Game! My son watched it and I was thinking of you the whole time. :cheer2:

Now that I'm back on track I can't wait to hear more about your plans. Oh....and a big WOO-HOO on saving $1300!!! Now that's something to dance about! :dancer:

I know what you mean!! A LOT of people around here are INFURIATED!! Shoot--I'd be mad too if our coach left after being there only 1 year! :confused3
I'm not so upset that he left after a year. If you're not happy, fine. Leave. Just don't do it less than a month before signing day and then tell OUR recruits not to go to class so they don't have to forfeit a year of eligibility if they move to USC with him. Karma, baby, karma. If he treats us this way, things will come back around to bite him in the rear. I'm sure of it.

Yes, I have started planning my December trip, too!! We'll probably stay at the Poly again--we just LOVE the Poly and it's so nice being on the monorail!! I've subscribed to about 34 TRs from this past Christmas and I'm making a list of things we'll definitely want to do (Candlelight Processional, resort tour of the decorations, MVMCP, see the storytellers in Epcot, etc.).

Yay!! I'm glad you were able to order Tink!! Thanks for the link to that rebate site! I'll have to check that out!! :thumbsup2

Thanks!! I love my hipster as well!! My friend just got a mini-hipster and I was checking it out yesterday!! I'm wondering if I should get one for our trip or just use my hipster?! Brent carries a backpack into the parks AND we have a bag for Claire. What would you suggest?

I've gotten bitten by the PTR/TR bug, too. I'm doing better about keeping up with them, though. I completely catch up with one, before subscribing to the next. Then I sign up for daily email alerts so I don't let a report get too far away from me, yk? This method is helping. Before I started doing it this way, I would sub to a bunch and then lose track of them and give up. I'm enjoying keeping up with all these reports now! Much less stress!

I love my hipster, but I think it's a little too much for park touring for me. The mini is just right for me. Just stick a few things in (lip gloss, KTTW, ID, insurance card, iPhone, a little bit of cash) and I'm off! And there's still some room to stick a park map or more odds and ends that I tend to pick up through the day. And it's also small enough to stick in DH's backpack or the diaper bag when you need to. In fact, I did stick it in the diaper bag most mornings to save time through the bag check. If I forgot, I just opened it up and laid it flat for the security personnel to see, and the never took the time to go through it. Besides, looking into a mini would be a good excuse to check out the VB website! At one point, I had a coupon code for 20% off, even sale stuff. I'll see if I can find it.

I didn't know he made all that Disney stuff, either! A lot of it is super cute. Geez, my- I mean, the girl's- Christmas/birthday lists got a lot longer!

Hi!! And :welcome: to my PTR!!! Glad you're here!! :goodvibes

Thanks! Glad to be here! I love coming across PTRs/TRs with young kids. I love getting ideas on things to do and new places to go. We are heading there in may with my DD who will be almost 2 1/2 at that point. We took her last August and she loved it so we are excited to bring her back.

I am finally all caught up with your PTR and may need to go read one of your TRs later when I have time. But some comments on what you have so far.....
Love the Disney outfits! My DD also had a Minnie mouse dress with the ribbons on top and a Tink one too, that we got from Etsy. They are just so cute!
I love all of the pictures you posted from the holidays. I am also addicted to FB. Between the DIS and FB, it's a wonder that I ever get anything done! :lmao:
Finally, have you started thinking about where you will do your ADRs? Or did you already mention that and I missed it? Okay, i think that's it for now. Thanks for letting me in on the ride!

Hee hee!! I'm trying to balance it! Read PTRs one day and TRs the next, etc. :goodvibes

Hi Missy!! Glad to see you posting my friend!! Thanks for all the kind words!! Yes, we were SOOOO excited when BAMA won!! And I was beyond thrilled when the new WDW discount came out!! It was a great way to start the new year!! :cool1:

Oh wow, Andrea!! I didn't realize that he was telling the recruits not to go to class!! That's pretty low! So what do you think of this Dooley guy that they hired?!

Your TR/PTR reading plan sounds like a good one!! :thumbsup2 I try to catch up on TRs one day and PTRs the next. A lot of times I'm up WAY too late reading!! ;)

Oooh--thanks for the raving review of the mini-Hipster! I might just have to get me one now! I never thought of it saving time during bag check--GREAT idea!!! :thumbsup2 Oooh--where did you get the coupon code?!

We are going from the end of April through 5/9 - a few weeks before you. How funny - my girl's bday is on Oct. 16th! I wish she knew all the princesses like your little Claire, but her fave movies are Tinkerbell and Cars so we end up watching those over and over again. Have you done the 1900 Park Fare dinner before? (sorry - I haven't read your other TRs yet) We are debating between that and another meal for our last ADR. we are excited to be going back in May. August was just too hot!

Oh wow!! They are only 6 days apart!! :goodvibes I think it helps that she has an older sister that is obsessed with all of the princesses!! ;) We have not done 1900 Park Fare but I heard great things from friends that have!! Our last trip we did CRT and Akershus--I highly recommend the breakfast at Akershus! The princesses are GREAT! Crystal Palace and O'hana are also repeats this trip!!

Hey Becky! I was in Target earlier tonight and thought of your girls. They had a wall display of Alabama national champions stuff. They had hair barrettes and hair clippies--too cute. :thumbsup2

Anyway, looking at your ADRs, and it seems like we will be at Epcot the same day, on Wed., the 26th. I think we're going to have a late lunch/ or early dinner at Nine Dragons. Oh, and while we were at Disney during New Years, my daughter Elizabeth's birthday dinner was at 1900 Park Faire.

It's always fun to find someone else with a little one so close in age, especially within a week! We love Ohana and already have it booked for dinner. DH loves the bread pudding. My little gal gets a little shy and scared around the characters when they come too close so we aren't sure if the 1900 Park Fare dinner will be worth it this year. We did book the Hollywood and Vine breakfast with some of the Little Einstein characters because she loves them and actually kept pointing to the pictures online and saying she wanted to go there. I think i would get a bigger kick out of 1900 Park Fare! :rotfl:

I'm just starting to read through your PTR but I just wanted to say that even though it rained so much last year you got a lot of really nice PP pics!
Your girls are sooo cute! Especially dressed as princesses or Minnie!! :)

Going back to read through now!

Yum! I think my DH dreams of the bread pudding. We didn't realize how good it was going to be the first time we went to Ohana's and were regretfully too full to eat a lot of it. We knew better the second time around and pace ourselves accordingly now.

Hi Becky,
Hope you had a good week. It finally warmed up here the other day. For 10 days our high wasn't higher then 45.:scared1:
Here are the pictures of my couch set

Aren't our couches so alike?
While I had the camera out I figured go take a picture of the girls.
Amy was already sleeping.

When I went to go take a picture of Emily she claimed that I didn't know how to take a picture and she had to do it.

I had a update ready for my TR but when I go to post it I saw that someone closed my TR. I PMed the moderator.
Have a good evening.

The bread pudding is my FAVORITE!! We ended up having 2 servings of the bread pudding. They asked us if we wanted another one and we said, "Sure!" We were sooo full when we left O'hana! We did the Hollywood & Vine lunch last May and we really enjoyed it!!

I did have a good week, Barbara!! And I'm even happier now that Brent is home from India!! Oh wow!! Your couch DOES look like ours!! you have good taste!! Cute pics of your girls!! Thanks for sharing! They closed your TR?! That's strange! I hope they open it back up soon!!

I know just how you feel. Kevin (my dh) was out of town from Monday until late Friday evening. We were all pretty glad to see him when he got in late Friday night.

He has to leave again on Sunday night to be gone until Thursday evening, so I'll have it alone again this week

Awww! I'm so sorry Michelle! Brent left the morning after the National Championship game and got home tonight right before dinner. So 9 days total--uggh! Thankfully my mom came in town on Tuesday to help me out some. It's not fun solo parenting!

No, it's not Becky. You're right about that, and your girls are still young, so it's even harder. My kids are older and actually help me out a lot.

But you just miss having another adult in your house to talk to, don't you? It makes me appreciate single parents.

Exactly!! That's why I spent most of my evenings after the girls went to bed here on the DIS!! :goodvibes
