This Is A Poncho-Free Zone!--May 22-29, 2010 PTR (New PTR!!!! 5/31)

Hey Becky~! We went at the same time last year! Let's hope for the both of us it isn't the same kind of weather! Haha! It was just horrible! My pants were soaked all the way up to my tights!

It seemed like everyday started out great and then as soon as we got to the parks the sky opened up! Ohhhh man!

Oh no! You were there for the record rainfall, too?! Wasn't it just awful?! I know--whenever we thought we had dodged the rain, the skies would open up! Uggh!! :confused3

We were lucky enough to have only one partial day of rain on our December trip, but we have sloshed through the rain a few days on some of our summer trips. You guys all definitely deserve a re-do with much better weather, so I hope that it works out to be beautiful for your next trips.

If we can all make it through this cold, cold winter, springtime is going to be a welcomed friend!

It was pretty bad more so since it was DH's first time there! Hopefully this year it will be nothing but sunshine and I'll just have to lather on the sunscreen and drink water. I hope hope hope hope!

You are going right when we get back home so hopefully those to weeks are full of sunshine and whatever else makes people happy!

Yes Dina!! That's what I'm hoping for as well!! :goodvibes

Isn't the hoodie lovely?! it's so soft on the inside - it's one of those things I don't want to put in the laundry too much because it'll lose that nice fleece?! :rotfl:

While I was reading your PTR yesterday, I looked over to see what DF was watching on tv - and it was an Alabama college football game (that's your team right?) !! .. It was an old game I think that ESPN were re-showing (against Texas?) he loves American football and lately it's being shown much more on the sports channels here - I try to follow the games but I don't quite understand the rule yet  lol.

I noticed you put some photo links to your fb account so I thought I'd add you.. I like having Disney friends on fb!!

DF & I are looking at going to WDW around December 12th after three nights in New York.. never been there, can't wait to start planning properly!! I'm calling it our 'engagement vacation' .. any excuse to wear the 'just engaged' buttons at WDW! :rotfl:

Look forward to reading more of your PTR

Emma princess: x x

Yes!! I just LOVE that fleece on the inside!! :lovestruc Would you believe that I ordered that black "Legends" Mickey shirt--I opened it up and they had sent me a blank black t-shirt--nothing on it!! So I called and they are sending me another but I have to mail the blank black shirt back (at their cost, thankfully). CRAZY!

Yes!! We are HUGE Alabama fans!! That game your boyfriend was watching was from last Thursday night--it was the National Championship game and we won!!!! Which means we're #1 in the country!!! Roll tide!! :cheer2:

Yes, I LOVE having my DIS friends on FB as well! It's a fun way to keep in touch and get to know each other better!!

An engagement trip, huh?!?! How exciting!!!! :flower3:

Oh how nice!! I'm so glad that you had good weather!! :goodvibes Thank you!! I hope the weather cooperates for us as well! I am definitely ready for Spring!! We're not used to these frigid temps here in TN!! Are you doing a TR for your December trip?! I'd LOVE to read it!! :goodvibes

Well you know what they say about the mullet, "business in the front, party in the back" :rotfl:

Oh my word!! That is HILARIOUS!!!!! I've never heard that before!!!!!! :lmao:

Hi there ladybugmom!! :wave2: ...noticed when you replied on my trip report, that besides being 'Bama fans, we have something else in common....We're going to be at Disney at the same time!!! Right now the plan is to arrive Saturday, May 22...same day as you...but we'll probably depart on Friday, May 28. And you said that on your first trip, you and your hubby celebrated your anniversary. Well....DH and I will also be celebrating our 20th anniversary during this trip. The actual anniversary day is May 18th , but we won't be at Disney until a few days later. But that's ok.

We've stayed at the Poly twice before. We love it, but I think my girls want to try the Beach Club. We stayed at Yacht Club over New Years, but it was too cold for us to get in the pool. So I think they want to go there again, so they can try out that pool.

Also...another strange fact...saw in your "who's going" section the info. on your parents. I noticed you said your dad was a dean at Union University in Jackson, TN., as well as you being a grad.... Well....we actually used to live near Jackson. We were there for 3 years, and let me tell you, it was hard being a Bama fan for those three years. ;)

Isn't that all crazy?!?

Hi Michelle!! Thanks for coming over to my PTR!! WOW!! Small world!!! That's great that ya'll will be in WDW the same time we are!!! :yay: Maybe we'll run into you! Wow--20 years of marriage--that's wonderful!! :lovestruc Congrats!! You lived near Jackson?!?! No way!! Yes, my parents live there but we live in Memphis--it's a little easier being BAMA fans here in Memphis b/c there seems to be a lot of different fans who have moved here. Any there are quite a bit of BAMA fans--I ran into some today at the mall--I went to buy me and my DH a National Championship shirt!! :goodvibes

Thanks...I still can't believe it's almost 20 years. You have to be old to have been married that long! ;)

We actually lived in a small town called Huntingdon, which is about 35 miles out of Jackson. But Jackson was the place you went shopping, or out to eat. And it was not easy being a Bama fan there. I often would tell people that in our church of 450 people, there were 446 Tennessee fans, 2 Vandy fans, and 2 Bama fans (that was us!) And of course the year we moved there (1995) was the year TN beat us for the first time in like 8 or 9 years. And wouldn't you know it...they beat us all three years we lived there :sad2:

Your girls are just precious. Looking forward to reading more of your PTR. When I finish this TR, I think I will start a pre-trippie too! :)

I'm sorry I really haven't been updating much since we got home from Christmas break. I've been sooo busy reading TRs and PTRs!!! I think I'm subscribed to about 30 Christmas TRs right now!! :surfweb: I'm trying to get as much info as I can for our December trip since I feel I have May down pretty well. ;) AND I figured out how to organize my subscriptions!! (I know, BIG dork here--I never realized that you could make separate folders to organize your subscriptions!!) So I have mine organized as: Christmas TRs, PTRs, TRs, Completed TRs/PTRs, and Subscriptions (for any that don't fall in those categories)!! :goodvibes

Anywho, so I thought I'd update you as to what's been happening this past week since we returned from Alabama. Once we returned home we had LOTS of Christmas cards waiting for us from some wonderful DISers (you know who you are)!!! There are too many to name here but THANK YOU for the cards!! I enjoyed reading each one!! I'm very blessed to have such great friends!! The girls also had some very special postcards waiting for them once we returned home! They were sent by their Fairy Godmother, Katie (DWGal210)!! The girls were sooo excited to get these (thank you Katie)!!!

Ally and Claire both received a princess postcard

Last Thursday night was SUPER exciting for our family!! As most of you know we are HUGE BAMA fans!! Last Thursday night was the National Championship game against Texas!! It was sooo exciting--so exciting that I had to leave the room in the 4th quarter--I couldn't handle the stress--the score was just too close! But in the end BAMA beat Texas 37-21!!! ROLL TIDE!! We were soo excited! This was BAMA's 13th National Championship win and the last time they won was back in '92 when Brent was in college! Needless to say we all wore our BAMA gear on Friday to celebrate!

#1!!!

Then Saturday night we were sitting at home watching Ratatouille on The Disney Channel when all of a sudden I saw Ally's tooth fall out of her mouth!! It had been loose ever since she lost her 1st tooth back around Thanksgiving! Ally was constantly pushing on it with her tongue and it just popped out and landed in her lap!

Now, off to read more TRs & PTRs!!! I'm a little addicted, I think!!

Hee hee!! I've heard of Huntingdon!! I know what you mean though! My parents are big TN fans and my brother went to law school there--uggh!! However, he did get us fabulous tickets for the TN/AL game in Tuscaloosa back in '05 when we beat TN 6-3. We had 12th row seats!! It was Ally's 1st BAMA game--sooo much fun!! Oh no! Those were some tough years to be living in TN! YIKES!!

Great update, Becky! The postcards are super cute as are all the Christmas and Alabama pics of the girls! I know you were all very excited last Thursday! :goodvibes The Jim Shore princesses are wonderful! Brent did well! :goodvibes

Hi Becky!! I was working out at the gym on Friday night and saw that the BAMA/Texas game had an hour to go before it started - I thought of you and was hoping BAMA would win :) We didn't watch it but the next morning I anxiously went on my computer to check on the outcome :cool1: Oooh Disney postcards...I just love Disney mail  I love Snow White and Ariel outfits for the AG dolls...and Ally and Claire are adorable princess: You're getting so close to your trip, yay!!

On Sunday I booked a cruise on the Disney Dream for May 2011 to celebrate Frankie's graduation from college and our three year dating anniversary. We can't wait :cloud9: It's still a while away but I couldn't resist...we got a great rate for booking over a year in advance. I'm still not sure what we're going to do this summer for our two year anniversary...likely stay at a Disney resort for 2 or 3 nights. Disney planning is so much fun, isn't it?? Hope everything has been going well!! :goodvibes

Hello!! Love the AG princess outfits. Too cute! Emily just got Julie for Christmas! She's so pretty! She's actually sitting on the couch right now looking at me. Or she's listening to the Dis radio, which is playing. :rotfl:

Love all of the christmas pictures. The princess set with the castle is gorgeous!

Becky, the Jim Shore Princesses are beautiful! I LOVE Jim Shore and have been slowly collecting the Disney/holiday ones. What a big score!

Boy, you are lucky that Ally is managing to get her teeth out on her own. My girls just cannot seem to get it. Lucy has had her two front bottom teeth loose since her last checkup in August. They go back next month, but has she pulled it yet? Noooooo! In fact, its not much looser than it was, but the new tooth has completely grown in behind it! I told her the dentist would probably want to pull it - what a bummer to have to have your first loose tooth pulled out by the dentist. :confused3

How sweet of Katie to send those postcards to the girls! Mickey Mail is always exciting!

Your girls are beautiful, as always! I love the Snow White and Ariel AG outfits! My DD will be getting her first AG doll (the Bitty Baby) for her bday in Feb. DH is already complaining about the cost of it. Little does he know what is in store for him! :lmao:

Yay for another lost tooth!

I am in LOVE  with your Jim Shore Princess set!!! DH has been informed that he is buying it for me next Christmas. :rotfl:

Hi Becky, I love the the Jim Shore Princesses! I just recently started to collect Jim Shore pieces, I can't wait to add more to my collection. I am enjoying your tr, can't wait for more!

OMGoodness! There's so much to comment on!

First of all, :love:LOVE:love: the Jim Shore princesses!!! I will definitely be adding that to the girls (achoooMYooooo) Christmas list! I have always like Jim Shore figurines, but I've never found that "one" that I wanted to buy. Luckily for my DH, I've found those "six" I want to buy!:lmao:

I had no idea you could organize your subscriptions! Man, that saves me all sorts of aggravation! Thanks for the tip.

Where, oh, where can you buy princess outfits for AG dolls? That is the cutest thing ever! I know of several little girls who would love to have those as gifts! That would solve an awful lot of gift-giving questions I have!

I :lovestruc your Tiana bow! I have a friend who makes the bows for my girls, but I've never seen her make one like that! I doubt I'll ever get the time to do it (I've recently taken up sewing, and that is tying up all my free time. Other than DIS-ing, of course!). Do you sell yours? On Etsy or a personal website?

I subbed to this PTR, and I plan to go back and read your others. I also sent you a friend request on FB. :thumbsup2

Just so I can say goodbye with a clear conscious, GO VOLS! But congrats on the National Championship. I sure am glad an SEC team won!

What a great update! Beautiful princesses! I love the DIsney AG outfits-will have to remember them for Avery's bday! Those were the first 2 teeth Avery lost-now the upper one is front is loose. Congrats to Bama-my hubby was going around saying "ROLL TIDE" just to be annoying...

Love all the pictures and that 'Bama won the national championship--they are who I had picked in our football pool. :) :goodvibes

LOVE :lovestruc the Fairy Godmails!! I am hoping that I can get someone to do it for Lilian--she loves  getting mail but rarely does at this age.

The Disney outfits for the AG dolls are adorable!! Did you order them from online? I saw them and have a feeling we will be picking them in the parks for Lilian's birthday since she is getting her first 18 doll while we are down there.

I bet you are SO excited about May and December this year. :) Are you learning lots while reading the TRs?

What a great update!

I love the Jim Shore princesses! So awesome! Love the AG girls in their Disney garb.

Congrats to Ally for losing her tooth! Sam gets so excited everytime he loses one.
