I don't usually browse here, im looking for reviews of restaurants. Why do 70 percent of the topics not say the restaurant(s) being reviewed? How long you were there, or the dates or anything like that are not very handy titles of threads.

I'm missing something i think :).

I put all of my reviews in one thread, so I never put all of the restaurants reviewed in the title of my thread. I do however, keep a list of all my reviews, and what posts they are on in the first post.

If you are looking for specific dining reviews try listening to the Disunplugged podcast its an awesome show!!!! About every other week Kevin will do a detailed restaurant review which I think are fantastic. The thread below will indicate which restaurants are reviewed on specific podcasts. or you can just throw the name of the restaurant in the search on wdwinfo.com
hope that helps

People on the DIS use the restaurant forums for different reasons.

Some people use them to give the facts and strictly the facts...

others use it to relive their memories of a fabulous (or maybe not so fabulous) experience / and or trip.

still others us it as a entertainment vehicle, to socialize online with friends etc.

while still others might use it for something I don't know....

The K-Man and I tend to write one restaurant / experience per posting. Others tend to put all of their experiences into one thread.

Wether names are in the titles or not, is a personal preference, and while I understand it is difficult at times to determine by the thread name what the review is about, it is easy enough to open up the thread and see if it is something of interest to you.

Well said MisterDisney ... it only takes a point and a click to open a thread and see what it's all about. :thumbsup2

And as a previous poster also said, I link to all the restaurants I review in my very first thread post to make it as easy as possible for people to get to the review they're interested in without having to read through everything in between.

If you go to allearsnet.com they have a review section listed by restaraunt name. I prefer to check out all ears if I want a straight review, but I love the DIS when I want to read about the entire experience.

And not playing favorites or anything, but Mister Disney and Obolyshoi write some of the best reviews on the boards, definatly worth reading.

agree with you on Mister Disney's reviews - they are the best! (there's nothing else on these boards quite like them: excellent commentary, great photos - all that's missing is "smell-o-vision"!)

Forget about smell, I wish we could actually taste the food! (Well, I can in September.)

It does only take one click, but there are 1000s of posts. I guess I just disagree that even if you like writing to relive the memories, totally cool, that it would be advantageous if the title was descriptive as opposed to decoration.

Having said that, I think i stumbled upon some of the pps thread that have a TON of restaurants in them with pages listed as to which restaurant, which is great, but how can I know what each link will contain, the vast majority aren't like this.

I'll head on over to allears it seems, but I still don't understand why putting dates in the title, as opposed to the post itself, and not including the title is of any benefit to anyone, aside from the people who have written a BUNCH. This isn't directed at you, but you could even admit you're the minority.

Imagine if on the resorts board everyone posted things like "question about my stay from august 1 - 9 at a particular resort". They always post "questions about AKL" or whatever, so people can help them and get information later easier.

EnnEss -

Do you have particular restaurants that you are interested in knowing about?
Maybe if you tell us what restaurants you would like informaiton on, we might be able to stear you through links to some reviews of them?

Give us a list, and I am sure we'll all be able to help you find reviews for the types of restaurants you are interested in.

The reason I don't put every restaurant's name in the thread name is because we ate at what seems like a billion restaurants. This next trip we'll be in Disney for 21 nights... I'd never fit all those restaurants in one title and if I posted them all in seperate threads, there'd only be me on the Dining Board and my reviews would be too cluttered.

I always put a list of restaurants I intend on reviewing in the first post, and when I update I always put the name of the most recent restaurant reviewed in the thread title.

I guess people put the dates so that you know how recent the review is. Reviews take a long time to complete, I went my last trip in August for example and am still writing them now. People might not want to read 'old' reviews.

It's not that hard to look - or ask a question. Personally I prefer people maintain one thread with their restaurant reviews instead of starting a new thread for every meal or snack they ate............

Most food reports are like the trip reports; you don't see people list the park or rides they rode that day in a separate thread. Eating is an adventure for most of us who frequent this board and we love reading about others' adventures! I agree with other pps that Mr. Disney and K. Man's reviews are fabulous and are listed one restaurant at a time. Oybolshoi's reports will be some of the most fun reads about food you will find. I really don't read this board for the advice as much as for the fun! I think I look more to the regular restaurant board to ask about specific restaurants.

You get the fabu food porn here that's not on Allears reviews, too!

I do exactly the same thing as you.

The reviews board would be too cluttered if everyone posted a new individual thread for each review. I have twenty-seven TS meals during my next trip, so that would be twenty-seven threads there, not to mention a review for every lounge, CS, and Food and Wine Festival reviews I may want to write.

There are no requirements for this board other than it be restricted to dining reviews.

If you want to give bare bones and write a paragraph, great!

If you tell a great tale and it goes on for days (ok weeks and months for some :lmao: ), great!

Some people only want threads with pictures, some want (insert whatever here)

Everyone is welcome to post their reviews however they want to write them.

We just want to hear about your trip and how your dining experiences were.

OMG.....Holy Sh**, I WISH we were at Disney long enough for 27 TS meal....

I am SOOOOOO jealous!!!

This is going to be my longest trip, with the most meals yet. I have the deluxe DDP, so I'll have 36 credits to use over twelve nights. I made all my ADR's, and in addition to a lot of other restaurants, I'll be eating at all the signature restaurants.
