This church has got some nerve!

Wow. I have no words other than she better get those children of hers out of that church, fast.

I'm sure she is the ONLY person in that church who is committing this sin. Maybe they should all make public confessions.

There is a church in our town that has had public confessions. The ones I know about have been public figures that the newspaper reported on. My question was always do they make everyone confess publicly or just famous people. I have never had an answer. I guess I now know. They must do it for everyone, but only the famous ones make the newspaper.

Oh geeze.

Her "children" are 18 and 20 years old. I kind of wonder why they haven't left on their own? What next? A public stoning of the wanton woman, followed by an All Church Potluck Picnic?

John 8:7, for crying outloud.

A few quotes....

"Therefore, you leave us with no other choice but to carry out the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ,....."

"Sincerely in the love of Christ,..."

Didn't Jesus ALSO say..."Love your Neighbor" and "Do not judge, or you will be judged in the same manor."

The big problem with "religion" is that they seem to have forgotten what they are trying to preach. MY Jesus sat with the "sinners" and showed love and let them be convicted by his actions.

When you are trying to save the church when do you have time to show His love to those who don't know him. It is like preaching to the choir.

In my beliefs there was only one perfect person and he did know about the fall of man.

Wow. That's bold. And assumes the elders are sinfree.

My church always says "Hate the sin, love the sinner." Just because we may not agree with something a member or attendee is doing, doesn't mean we don't welcome them openly. It's not for us to attack the sin, but that's God's role.

I feel bad for anyone who feels that they have to humiliate others to make themselves feel better.

I dunno, all I kept thinking was

Matthew 7:1 - Judge not lest ye be judged.

and

John 8:7 - Let him who is without sin cast the first stone.

And I'm in NO WAY someone who goes to church every week, but I do remember these two from my childhood!

And not forget that in God's eyes a sin is a sin !To him thinking about a"sin" is as bad as doing it !! So how many of those righteous ones have never had a not so saintly thought !!Also the only requirement for entering Heaven is Believe in Jesus Christ!! No mention of how long you had to have that belief!!

This is actually the church that my sister goes to. Apparently, they have their members so brainwashed that everyone actually believes that is not only ok but biblical. I have sat through one of their church services and the things they claim are biblical are absolutely rediculous. I believe in God and the bible but these people have taken parts and put them together to say what they want. Anyone can do this and have anything become biblical but that does not make it right in God's eyes. I just hope my sister sees the truth and leaves that church.

HAHA this is NOTHING!! I went to a church..Not going to say where...but its in the bible belt...and they KICKED someone out of the church for cheating on his wife!It was the last time i went to the church

Do they still do that with some other religions in other countries?? Crazy.

We visited a church one easter morning when I was a kid and they had a special meeting (with us, as visitors, there) and brought it to light that the minister of music and the piano player were having an affair! It was shocking to say the least!

I have an old book from NC from the late 1800's/early 1900's and it has a bunch of rules in it. There is a section on this type of thing...if you get caught with alcohol, if you get caught with a woman, etc. what will happen to you within the church. It also has rules for slaves and master and all kinds of stuff like that. It is fascinating how public things used to be.

I can't understand why this woman's kids are still going there. She has let the cat out of the bag and told everyone now. So surely they know. If they have a problem with the church or with her actions, it should be clear.

Some churches/church people can be very judgmental. It's a scary mixture of arrogance and control. And then they wonder why there are so many who want nothing to do with organized religion.

Sounds like some churches, this one included, are on the highway to hell.

One should not confess sins to some priest. Confess them to the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!!!! Your sins are between you and Him.
