This can (and will for some) change the way you re-charge your mobile devices in the park

No, this is not my product and I am in no way endorsed by them, but it is perfect for goers of WDW.

It is a wearable device that captures energy from your motion, turning it into power to charge your phone or any USB-powered device. With as many miles as people walk per day, this could eliminate the need for needing an outlet somewhere in the park. Yes, there are products and cases that do this without creating motion (Anker, etc), but a green option with Ampy is certainly attractive for alot of people.

Not a bad device they have been out for quite awhile. But even though small is More stuff to carry. I try and bring as little as possible. If a was even worried about battery issue, I would just bring a fully changed spare battery. could fit in wallet not even notice I have it. It is a nice product for people who have a need for always using there devices, and want power instantly.

"lipstick"-style chargers are less bulky. But I can see this being good for hikers who can't recharge the external battery pack at the end of the day.

They are currently accepting pre-orders and expect to start shipping this summer

It doesn't have to be. They have belt/waist clips and bands for your arm or leg if preferred.

Depending on the device, this is not a viable option for everyone.

Obviously the Ampy (and similar devices) aren't for everyone, nor is the need or desire to use an entire phones battery charge, but for people who do want additional battery life, this is a great option.

Pre orders I must have mixed this one up with another product. There have been some motion chargers out for a while. I have a freind has one. He always has to have the newest tech

Depending on the rechargeable device you are talking about, yes they could be smaller, but they also won't charge as fast.

Additionally, the ampy provides a means to re-charge your re-charger without having to plug back in to the wall or a power source; something lipstick style chargers can't do. None of these benefits are necessary and will be considered with a bigger price tags than the $15 chargers in the market, but the additional perks are nice. I wouldn't toss my anker out just yet, but I don't think I would buy another one with this available.

They just need to slap a solar panel on the wrist band and actual device and it would be perfect!

Yes, I addressed that in my post.

If they could find a way to harness wind power, they could strap it to the necks of people in the kiosk lines and Anna & Elsa standby line, and the energy generated from listening to people complain could power the entire park! :duck::lmao:

Yet another reason I don't have an iPhone. I just carry a couple of extra ($5 each on eBay) fully charged batteries in my pocket and change them out in my Galaxy when I need to.

Regardless of where you attach it or store it, you still have to carry it with you.

I wish Disney wouldn't go so "connected". It would be nice to have a day in the park without having to check my phone at all. (That is quite honestly my favorite thing about cruises. Not a single glance at the phone the whole week.)

As much as you have to carry your clothes, hat, magic bands, etc. Point is, unlike most "lipstick" style chargers a/ Anker's etc., it can be worn; not carried if you prefer.

So if you are someone who wants a secondary charging device but don't want to carry one, this might appeal to you since you can wear it, not carry it. If you're someone who prefers to carry spare batteries, doesn't use their phones very much, thinks it's too expensive, already has another device, etc., then obviously you have little to no need for something like this.....kinda like me and a selfie stick. But, for those who like selfies, those things are worth their weight in gold.

I see an opportunity in this for Disney - they could build kinetic and photovoltaic energy producers into the Magic Bands themselves.

Then, a component of the system responsible for draining cell phone batteries in the first place could be used to charge them back up.

Looks like a nice accessory, LSU, thanks for sharing.

I have a very small power pack. It gives me two full charges of my iPhone 6, I usually don't even end up using it because I usually have battery left. I honestly don't see why I would need to charge my phone more than that in one day.
