This 40% off Code - when is it Valid???

Just curious as to when all these 40% off codes are valid?? We are hoping to plan a trip in early December, will these codes work during that time?

I have 40% off for rooms in DEcember only.(Dec 7th- 17th) I called Disney and spoke with CM about dates in October. Dates that people people got with their 40% off code.
I was told I had no code for October. So is there a code just floarting around for December? I never received an offical code in email or by snail mail. Just a CM in reservation telling me I had one attached to my name.
