Third Week of October 2014...Crazy Busy??

I know that October is a busy time for DVC, but it seems like the week we are going has the potential to be super busy. Our dates are the 19th-24th and that is a Free Dining blackout time. I also looked at a few websites that "trend" airfare and the routes to Orlando are in high demand that week as well.

My kids are off of school for the 23rd and 24th due to a Christian Education teacher's convention. Are there other schools that are on break that week as well? Yeesh! I hope it is not as bad as I'm picturing. We have gone over Easter and we've also gone in June and the Easter crowds were heavy, but bearable. I'm picturing this upcoming trip to be like Easter

So I don't think Easter will be as bad, but pay attention to recommended parks.

we are going the same week and have notice that its showing that it will be a little busier then the weeks we normally take in Oct. But if you play your cards right and use your fast passes you shouldn't have any problem except for dodging people in your way!!!! Have a great time

I think that will be the week Minnesota teachers have their conference - which is Thurs-Fri off school - and a lot of people pull for M-W. I could be off a week. Lots of Twins caps if that is the case.

Much of central Indiana now has a two week fall break in mid-October. Other parts of the country have 1-2 week breaks that time of year also. Friends who went last year reported that the parks seemed more crowded than in past years. We'll be there for part of our break this year and are expecting crowds but nothing unbearable.

I think FL schools are on break about that time and the usually have some conventions going on around that time although it might be a week earlier. We are usually there then too and in recent times have found it a lot busier. There is no more slow Oct. And EPCOT on weekend yikes huge lines and crowds. And now that people found out that they can use snack credits over there it gets more crowded at night too during the week especially when MK closes early for MNSSHP.

DH and I went around that time last year and were surprised at how busy it was. We went for F&W and MNSSHP. There were a lot of tour groups there too. UT crowd calendar has it as 7,7,6,5,5,6. But it seemed more crowded than that when we went (Oct 15-18, 2013)...I'd give it all 7s.

We also picked that week based on crowd calendars but thinking now it will be a bit busier than we thought.

We were there end of Jan into Feb this winter and it was busier than in years past.

Regardless - we are looking forward to our first Halloween and our first F&W ever at Disney!!

My SW florida school district only has the 20th off, and a bordering district has only the 24th. We always go for this time and it is usually avg crowds, although I have never gone at the busy times so I have no basis for comparison. I also don't believe any of the crowd prediction sites.
