Third time's a....Holland America?! Alaska review/compare

Should I keep going? any thoughts or Questions?
I am really enjoying your report! We are also thinking of taking an Alaskan cruise, but Disney's prices are pretty crazy for this. We were looking for other options that might be more budget friendly. Thanks for taking the time to put your thoughts out there, and I am looking forward to hearing more! :)

Entertainment:

So like I've said before, we cam into this cruise with fairly low expectations - we love the shows on Disney an also really enjoyed them on Royal also- the water/diving show, Hairspray, the comedians etc- all really good. So on a cruise line we expected to be focused more for seniors- well we didn't expect much for entertainment- we were SO wrong!

Evening Shows:

So the evening shows were great! The musical type shows (I think there were two?) were well done an the singers were good! There were 4 main singers and I think another 4ish dancers? They worked super hard and cared about what they were doing, and it showed. There was also a magician who I think did 2 shows (well I think now it was 1 whole show and 1 part show) and he was great- my BIL and hubby had gone to the early show with my mom while my sister and I put the babies down and they came again with us to the late show! Also a comedian who we thought was hilarious - he was actually making jokes more aimed at say a 25-45 crowd, so we had a blast. Some people didn't get all his jokes, but we really liked him. There was also this awesome performance where the live band played music to a video slideshow/story of Alaska- it was awesome and I'm so glad we went. There was an 8ish show and a 10 I believe- the early show was usually pretty full but the late show had some pretty good crowds. The other awesome thing is that the theatre has a variety of comfy seating- couches that fit 3, cuddle couches for 2, single comfy chairs etc- no tight theatre seating!

Other Performers:

Piano bar: so there was a piano bar with a piano man that played ever night from 7 or 8 till late- and it was generally busy there all night long! He was really good too!

Duo: there was a lovely pianist/violinist that had great sets- our babies especially loved them. They were very talented!

Jazz Trio- Wow is all I can say! These guys were Ah-mazing!! They were so talented. Played a combo of jazz, cover songs, requests, you name it! We loved watching them.

Night Club: The night club was the let down as far as entertainment goes- the DJ who was actually the assistant CD was not good and had no ability to mix music and often just let it run.

Game Shows: we did attend and did really have a good time I must say.

Overall we were really impressed with what was available for entertainment in the evening and honestly, there were def more people out and about than on Disney...maybe not as many as on Royal but we still had a nice time out with the choices.
