We are flying into SNA on 6/13 and flying out of LAX on the early on the 19th so we booked a hotel near the airport.

We currently have a car rented to pick up at SNA and return to LAX. We got a great deal about $102 total. The problem is that we are staying at Sheraton Park hotel and they charge $20 per day to park. So looking at a little over $200. Since it is our first visit to DL, I doubt we would have time to go out driving anywhere anyway so it seems parking is a waste of money.

I was thinking of trying Uber/Lyft and just a little nervous about using them. We would probably request the XL size. It is 3 of us but my 14yr old son and I are both 6'3" so I am afraid we wont fit in standard UberX.

Rough pricing wise it looks like I can save somewhere $70-$90 with Uber/Lyft. I guess I am just looking for reassurance that it is a good idea before I go ahead and cancel my rental car.

I didn't use Uber for transferring from the airport (LAX) to Anaheim.. but we used it twice while we were there 2 weeks ago. I was a total newbie, as they don't even have Uber anywhere near where we live. I was a bit hesitant, as it was just me and my 7 year old daughter, but I bit the bullet.. and loved it! We used it to get to/from an Anaheim Angels game one night, and another time to get to/from Target. It was cheaper than using the shuttle/transit system in both those cases.. and we had great service. Would definitely take advantage again when we're down there (or anywhere with Uber!).

I love uber. If use it from SNA for sure. Can you rent a car in the Anaheim area for your drive to LAX? There's a location in DTD.

We used both several times in San Francisco last year and had good experiences.

I haven't used Uber in CA, but have used it in Seattle and Las Vegas. If you are going to use it, be sure to take advantage the newbie specials. If someone sends you a code ( I can send you one if you would like), you will get $20 to apply to your first trip. Then, each time you send a code to someone new and they take a ride, they get $20 and you get $20. So, if I send one to you, you'll get $20 off your first trip, then you send it to your spouse, and you each get $20 off a trip.

I was in Vegas this past weekend. We were a party of 6, 4 of which had never Uber'd. We just kept passing codes and downloading the app on the phones of the people that had not used it. We ended up with a lot of $20 credits!

As for car size, if you get a regular Uber, it will be a standard 4 door car. I had a Prius and an Escape on two recent trips. And LX holds more people, for our party of 6 we had a couple full size SUV's and a couple mini vans.

We have taken Uber from SNA plenty of times and it's way cheaper than a cab or rental car when you factor in parking at the hotels. UberX is usually around $20-25 from SNA. Getting to LAX will definitely be more expensive by Uber/Lyft though. Have you considered the Disneyland Express Shuttle?

It sounds like there are plenty of Ubers at SNA, but are they readily available in Anaheim? I've used them around Chicago and never waited more than 5 minutes for a ride. I am going to be needing one a few times while we're there (Angels game, early DVC event at DLH, etc).

Just this weekend we used Uber for the first time. First trip was SNA to BW stovalls. Ended up being only $10 after our promo code. Monday we used Uber from Stovalls to LAX. Picked up almost immediately. That trip was $48, no promo code. It was super easy and convenient and I'd definitely use uber again.

We always use Uber! That's all DH will use now when he's on business which is A LOT! We've used it to/from SNA and last Aug we also used it several times to get to/from the hotel my parents were staying at since it was a bit further than we were willing to walk to. For to/from airports we always go with Uber Black and around town we just used Uber Select.

They are all over the place in Anaheim. Super easy to get and cheaper than a cab.

I love Uber as well! I went back in May last year with my friend (22 and 21) and we had no issues whatsoever. Some people were super nice and talkative, others quiet. This trip we used it (three girls 20, 22, 23) and again, no issues whatsoever. We even got a nice guy one day that detoured because the freeway traffic was terrible and he showed us some sights as we drove through the city. I'd say go for it, it's definitely a money saver and you can meet some really nice people that can give you tips about different places that might be worth checking out.

We did Uber from SNA to DLR, DLR to Long Beach and back, with zero problems. It's easy, much cheaper than cabs, and I find the experience to be more pleasant overall.

Has anyone done Uber from LAX? Is the trip terrible? Despite getting a super cheap flight into LAX I am starting to wish we were flying into SNA!

Have you considered requesting a convertible? :)
Hey......won't hurt to ask.
Even a sunroof would work, just open it and sit right under it. Lol

Sorry......couldn't help myself.

Again......;)

:faint:

:)

Uber is great. The prices are great compared to a cab. However, when you use the Uber XL or Uber Black, the prices increase significantly. We made a mistake recently in Orlando where only Uber Black can pick you up from the airport. It would have been less expensive to take a cab.

Another Uber fan here, I used it all over LA and it was great. Since there was just the two of us, we used Uber Carpool (where you share the ride with others) and it was even cheaper.

We used Uber for the first time back in October. From our hotel (Castle Inn) to LAX, we got an UberXL as there were 4 of us - using the $20 promo code I think it was around $80? Worked out quite well.
