Thinking of split stay w/ free dining and then AP

I would love to upgrade from a value to a mod or better for free dining, but I cant swing it. No way no how. So right now we have 11n booked with free dining, 2 rooms at ASMo. Then I saw the AP rates come out. I am getting an AP rate so we can stay at the Poly for our anniversary just 11 days before this (I will also use it for our trip in Dec for a quick Christmas weekend). But I would really love to treat the kids to something special. I think I have 1 night at VWL booked the night before the free dining trip, my coworker wasnt 100% sure he had the pts. If not, then I would like to take off the last 2 days (or maybe 3?) and upgrade to CR for those nights with the kids (and skip the free dining). I think they would love it! AKL and WL are already booked. So it would be CR or Poly.

Is anyone else doing a split stay with AP and also free dining?

1st night Yacht club....$265..AP discount....

2,3 and 4th night...Beach Club Villas....DVC...

5,6,7 and 8th night....POFQ free dining...

Ahhh thanks! So I am totally not alone! With 6 I cant pass up the free dining.. but if I cant get into DVC for a treat for the kids, I def want a deluxe for a night or two to give them a treat! Also, since we will be done with the parks on the 29th, we will have 2 days to really enjoy the resort.

I did last year -

I booked DVC not believing they would dare to Free dining again... (last year) and then it came out... so I had to book WL for free dining... (on the weekend!! Not so many points)

Then the airfare dropped IF I came in ONE DAY EARLY!! so I booked Pop...

Luggage transfer from Pop to BWV perfect.

Getting Luggage out of LUggage hold from BWV - rediculous - completely and totally insane - not enough people, we were waiting in our room from 5pm to after midnight, several calls, and trips (long trips of course) to the front desk didnt help to get our luggage..

Luggage to WL - well we didnt tip the guy - sorry he was so arrogant about the after midnight I refused - and so my luggage wasnt going to get to WL (I forget that part of me taking a stand!)

WL - Luggage CM "Ma'am you're at the Lodge now, no worries" Yeah, I'd like to believe that... at 5pm when no luggage showed up, the CM from the morning called BWV and I overheard him say "If you cant get this guests luggage here in 20 min, I'll come and get it personally, and you dont want that to happen" Our luggage arrived in 25 min in our room (and yes, he got the big tip!!)

Just our experience... Luggage transfer does NOT work like ME (ME luggage can be brought to your room when you are not there, not so with transfers... also at Pop they picked up our tagged luggage from our room when we were not there - I didnt know that was an exception not the rule, again ME spoiled here!)
