Thinking of Skipping AK (since no ROL) Thought? Which other Park?

I'm going in late April for a short trip. Have a 4-day passes. I had originally not planned on going to AK but with all the new things coming, I had changed to so I could see the ROL and the nighttime activities.

What timing! Just told the kids two days ago about the trip and got them excited about AK.

Think they will be bummed. Now my thoughts are again, should we skip AK? Anything to excite us there? We would be going on 4/25. It has Early Magic Hours. Do I go and get an early night? Doing Disney Spring day b4 on our way in so we really don't need a break.

Or switch to MK or Epcot? There's always things to do at MK.

Epcot's F&G, would that need more than a day?

Thinking of last minute changes. Need input.

Thanks.

We like DAK "better" than Epcot or DHS.

We do exit DAK and hop over to one of the other parks for an evening spectacular, however.

Don't have have Hoppers. So trying figure out which park we should go for a second time (MK or Epcot) OR stick w/ AK. We are doing DHS but wondering with with all the closures, is it a full day park? That would only be a day. We had a day for each park but don't know now.

You can do AK in the morning and Epcot in the evening. Me personally, I could never skip AK because 2 of our favorite attractions are there(Safari and EE)

Without hoppers I'd either do AK to Disney springs or swap AK for MK

I in the like AK camp so I'd hate to miss it

Personally, I'd keep AK but we normally find plenty to do there for at least 3/4 of the day. If you do early morning EMH, you might be done by around 3 or 4 if you also stop for lunch and you go to both shows. I'd say go, have an early day and spend the late afternoon, evening at the resort swimming and enjoying it. Maybe book dinner at AKL.

For us, AK is a meh park. There's only two things we would do again there - Lion King and Killamanjaro Safari - so it doesn't pay to go back there right now. Maybe in 5 years or so.

For us DHS is a one day park. With four days, I would spend two in MK, one in Epcot and one in DHS. But, that's what would work for us, and what we like.

It totally depends on you. I could spend all day at AK but I'm a FL resident with an AP and am lucky enough to get to WDW frequently. If you visit infrequently and really love MK, I'd do 2 days.

AK has a bad reputation around here... it's a lovely park with some awesome attractions. :flower:

I love AK & would still go. If the park closes early, get on the bus & go to nearby AKL and/or Kidani Village to see the animals out back using the night vision goggles. Enjoy the incredible theming at the 2 resorts & maybe book dinner at Sanaa or Boma.

Go to AK early and see the Gorillas. The baby gorillas are so cute.

:( I hope you are joking.
Oops! I did not realize ROL is delayed so I edited my post above. I Really do think the Gorillas are awesome , and I love DAK, so my recommendation is not to skip it even with no ROL.

I would not even consider skipping AK. You will have fun, no matter what, but for us, it's a must do every time.

When we went two years ago, we just felt like our kids would have enjoyed a second day at MK over what we did at AK.

Granted our littles were 5 and 2 at the time. Perhaps they would have enjoyed it more if they could have ridden everest.

We aren't going to give AK another go until they are a little older.

I would absolutely NOT skip AK.

With 4 day passes, I'd do a day at each of MK, Epcot, and AK, and then go back to either MK or Epcot the 4th day.

That's interesting. My sister just took my 18 month old nephew and only had a 2 day pass (her family was visiting her in-laws who live near Orlando during the winter). They only went to MK and AK and my nephew reportedly loved both parks.
