Thinking of renting VRBO 101631

For any of you that have rented from Gigi how was the experience? Was the condo what it was made out to be? Any regrets? We are thinking of booking this unit for our next stay. I would like to put the deposit down but some of the things I've read about other places and their cancellations is making me nervous...

Any thoughts or tips?

We rented this exact condo from Gigi in May 2007. She had no feedback at all when I rented it and I was scared to death . I knew my family would never let me live it down if I ruined our vacation.

Everything was wonderful and just as described. At that time Gigi was not requiring a security deposit. I paid via my credit card on paypal and never had any problems. A few other Diser's have stayed at this unit since then and from what I understand it is still great. The only reason we didn't stay there last year was due to availability when I needed. There is a thread somewhere on here about this particular unit. I have some pics of the unit you are welcome to look at if it will make you feel better.

I would love any pics that you feel like sharing! Thanks so much. I'm mostly nervous about the cancellation policy. She stated that it was refundable up to 30 days prior. But she was referring to the deposit. I would like to prepay everything. Then I started reading some threads on here about other properties not refunding at all once paid in full and was wondering if Gigi was the same way. I have an email in to her but have not gotten a response just yet. I don't plan on cancelling but with a husband in the banking industry and a DD with epilepsy one just never knows!

Why do vacations have to be so stressful? LOL

Gigi's policy used to be "if you don't stay, you don't pay". She may have had alot of last minute cancellations that caused her to start with a security deposit. You could always put the money in a separate account somewhere and pay closer to your travel time or look into trip insurance. I'm sure Gigi would return your money but you may loose your deposit. Let me know how it turns out.
