Thinking of not renewing my FL AP

I've had my FL AP for 4 years now (and regular AP for 10) and I think it's time for a break. Going so many times (usually every weekend or every other weekend) this last year has kind of worn me out. Had great time with visiting niece during Thanksgiving (always fun taking someone who has never been or only been once). Don't see any new rides/attractions on the horizons, so maybe a year off will help me regain the "magic". I just renewed my Universal AP (can't wait for Harry Potter) so I won't be without my theme parks completely. Anyone else who goes often feel same way?:cool1:

We only get to go twice a year, so our dream is to live close enough to be able to shell out $400 each for AP's. :) I've always wondered if we would end up losing some of the magic by going so much. Because we know that if we had the chance to go every weekend, we probably would. At least for a while.

Friends that go every weekend make sure they don't spend all day. They go for a 4 hour period is all and once in a great while, spend and entire day or entire weekend maybe once or twice a year. That way they don't get tired of the parks/attractions. Also a lot of their time at the parks, they wander around, enjoying the atmosphere rather then spending a long time waiting in lines to go on attractions.

Wow. Timing is everything, I guess.

We didn't lose the magic. The magic is harder to find. I am beyond serious with that statement. WDW used to be magical every single time we went, and we've had APs since 1996.

This past year, maybe last 18 months has really taken it's toll on our enjoyment of the place overall.

I'm not going to detail specifics, but to say that we are considering not renewing too (and even tossing around the idea of selling DVC) is not an understatement. :confused3

I try to make of point of doing something new (i.e. trying new restaurant) or something I had not done in awhile (i.e. Animation Studio Tour) and even did the pin trading (which is/was fun). I think the closing of the clubs at PI started my downward spirial. I might change my mind by my renewal date (end of Jan).

For us in a general sense (again, avoiding specifics) it's the overall increasing grubbiness of the parks, overall decrease in the friendliness of all CMs (with the noted few exceptions) and the money grubbing that seems to increase exponentially.

For us, the forced recognition of the downward spiral was the DCL experience. What a huge disappointment... :guilty:

We had a very nice time at AKL Kidani Village, but that was due to the newness and the surroundings and ONE CM... One, where it used to be nearly a guarantee of every CM you encountered was wonderful.

This past weekend, we had a CM in AKL make us wait to take our (kiosk) order because she was texting. Not a huge issue, but NOT Disney. :confused3
