We're thinking of squeezing in a trip in late Sept/early Oct., primarily for the free dining. If we couldn't get into a mix of our fave restaurants and some new ones on our list, frankly, we probably wouldn't choose to go at that particular time (still a bit too HOT for me!). I am sure it's going to be quite busy!

I was thinking of throwing together an itinerary, calling Disney dining and seeing if our choices had any openings BEFORE booking. Does that seem worthwhile? The problem is that it does take some serious time to put together that kind of itinerary, have to review EMHs, etc. Will I probably be able to get into most places even now, just perhaps not at the "ideal" time slots ... so maybe should just book the darn thing? Another issue is that we are now a family of 5 so I am guessing ADRs might be a bit harder to come by.

I guess I could book and always cancel, but I guess I am itching to plan our food now. ;)

Sure you can get in.

How many times do you see other DIS talk about changing their ADRs once they made their initial calls at the 180 mark. I called a week ago to change my ADRs and we are going in the early part of September.

Check the calendar and make your plans. You might not get all of your ADRs but I bet you will get most of them.

I agree with the previous poster. Just a few weeks ago I booked a trip for Sept 22nd-30th and made ADRs at the same time. A couple of weeks ago, my mom decided she'd like to go for the Flower Festival. I told her no way could we get into a resort on Memorial Day weekend and get decent ADRS on such short notice, but we decided to just see what was available. We literally made plans in like an hour, called CRO and found a wonderful CM who worked really hard checking day by day to try to get our favorite ADRs. We got everything, except Mama Melrose's fantasmic pkg and had to take a lunch at Le Cellier instead of the dinner we wanted. A few days later I was typing up the itineraries for both trips and suddenly realized that we were going to basically the same restaraunts each trip. We quickly looked at the menus on Deb's site and came up with a list of alternate ADRs and even had second choices in case they weren't available. I called, cancelled most of our Sept ADRs and managed to get new ones at different restaraunts.

2 weeks ago I booked A trip for mid August, and I was able to get all the ADR's I wanted, including Le Cellier, Rose and Crown, and 50's Prime Time , for the days and times I wanted :).
