Thinking of Going to MM at DHS in October

I have some questions about the MM event.
1. How early can you enter the park? When will we know? I'm supposed to be booking ADRs this Wednesday and would like to make plans. Which leads me to my next question....
2. Do any of you eat at a TS before the event or even in the time before the actual party begins? Or do you just eat the free hot dogs and nuggets? That's just not my preferred dinner while I'm at Disney.

For all previous events people reported that early in the evening lines for the food where very long. I'd plan at least a light dinner before going to the event and then plan on getting a mickey bar (or three) later in the evening.

That's what I figured. I definitely don't want to stand in line forever for hot dogs and chicken nuggets. I would rather spend that time eating at HBD, but I have no idea what time to make an ADR for since I have no idea what time I can enter the park. DHS closes at 8 that night, so I'm thinking we should be able to get in at 6. Is my line of thinking at all correct? Eating at 4 would be ideal but there aren't a lot of TS restaurants open at that time. Many of them close at 3 and reopen at 5. I guess I could always make one at 5 and come in to the park right at party time. Ale and Compass looks good.

Well, I just made an ADR for HBD for 6:20. Hoping for a 6:00 opening and planning to head straight there. We should be finished with dinner right about the time the event starts. I hope this is a good idea.

I only had a hot dog at Epcot’s MM in December, and I thought it was gross. Maybe it was steamed cooked inside the bag.

Yeah, hope it works out for both of us. We are still not sure we are going in October. We have two DVC reservations--one in October and one in December. We can go on only one of them. We won't be able to make a decision until probably June. But if we go in October, I am definitely looking forward to MM at DHS and trying a new restaurant that I've never eaten at before.

We were able to enter Epcot for Midnight Magic at 7:00, if I remember correctly, but the good was set out at 9:00. Oops, Moonlight Magic!
