Have you ever dropped everything you were doing and decided on the spur of the moment to take a trip to the World? That's what I'm thinking about doing right now. I don't know if I am looking for people to talk me into it or out of it. Who needs to plan anyway?

Comments?

DO IT!!!!!

I did a spur of the moment trip last year.. put it together in a little over a week, and it was one of the best ever!!!
Just do it!!

Sounds like an awesome idea to me! I wanted to do one of those for a long time. So you should totally live out my fantasy!

Actually I am thinking about telling my family I am going out of town on a business trip and going for a few days on my own since our last trip (just last week) was so crummy due to the weather and their illnesses! Also, their idea of a vacation is to just relax and mine is to go, go, go! So, my vote is to DO IT!

Not much to think about ... just do it!! Some of the best times of our lives are the most unplanned and spontaneous things you do!!! Go for it!! :cheer2:

Eventually, once I'm out of debt, I'll have a cash reserve set aside for just this thing. If you've got the money, then I say go and don't look back! :)

i say do it. I did something like that before but not to WDW. Got off work one day at around 1pm, told my friend that I wanna go to Toronto for the weekend. He said sure, hopped on a flight from Dulles Airport,VA at 5pm and at 7 or so was in Toronto haha.

One day, im going to do the same thing to disney :)

Go for it! it sounds like something I would do! good for you. Thats what I decided to do 2 weeks ago and thats what I'm doing. I asked my man to try to book the last week of June off and out we go to Disneyland! :rotfl:

If you can do it, do it! Life is to short to live without going to Disneyland as often as you can

I used to have a really crappy job with a 2-hr ONE WAY commute by mass transit. The manager was a nasty piece of work and the office staff were backstabbers, but I really needed the job and at the time, unemployment was almost as bad as today.

DH and I had two WDW parkhopper passes with one day remaining and still valid. (Non-expiring, yay!) I carried that sucker in my wallet for ages and when things got really bad, I'd take it out and think "One of these days, when I've really lost it, I'm just going to JFK and going to DisneyWorld."

Kept me sane for years whenever work got a little hairy at that job and another one that wasn't half as bad. Never got on that plane, but I knew I could if I wanted to get away from it all. (DH fully supported that plan.)

We finally used that pass (and DH's) a few months ago. DH wanted to visit his elderly auntie so he used WDW as a reward for his wonderful family, lol. Those tickets had appreciated in value - we bought them when there were only three major parks and Guest Services exchanged it for the current four-park passes!

OMG that sounds so good to me right now. I wonder... maybe just a weekend... hmmm Five weeks until my next trip and it sounds so far away tonight

I did it last January. My mother passed away in early January and after the funeral and getting her apartment cleaned out, I was able to find a DVC studio for 5 days and off I went. It was such a stress reliever. Since it was short notice I hadn't had time to "over think" my plan and I just winged everything from which park I visited each day to where I ate.

I have thought about it many times. Sometimes while I'm just driving to the grocery store I want to simply turn the other way and hit the highway. Maybe I should get a bumper sticker that says WDW or BUST!

(I always have my camera with me ... so I'm ready to GO!)

Spur of the moment can work. I like to plan out in advance, but a "let's go now" works fine.

I'm surfing the net and all of a sudden I see that I two people can go to WDW for 5 nights with food, park passes and lodging for less than $1,000.00 together! I call my friend and ask her "hey you won't believe this" (She is also a disney fanantic) and she says "Oh we are so there" so in less than one day I have a 6 day, five night trip planned for the World. We leave at the end of August.

Neither of us have been to WDW without our kids so we are looking forward to experiencing it without kids. I feel bad that my kids aren't going but not that bad :rotfl: I do know that I'm not telling my kids because I won't hear the end of it because they aren't going.

I think you should go for it and enjoy the experience! The best things happen on a spur of the moment!

I did something similar a couple years ago!
I was getting laid off Oct 26, and had not gone away for a vacation for a few years.
Mentioned to family at Thanksgiving Dinner Oct 8 (Canada!) that I was thinking of taking a vacation to maybe Florida or to visit sis in Calgary, and one sister suggested I go to visit friend in Middle East.
Checked Travelocity for flight prices, sent her a quick email to see if she was up for a visitor, and in just 2 wks later I was stepping on a plane!
Wow! It was amazing! All very casual, no big plans done, but still amazing!

So, I echo everyone else: Do it! --- No sense being on the Disboards looking for anyone to talk you out of a trip to WDW! (ah, but that's why you post here!)
Enjoy!

I want to go too!!! Oh, that's right I am!!! Yayyyy!:cool1: It just can't get here fast enough. Come on end of August! I need WDW.

Our trips are always filled to capacity with parks and meals and stuff. We stayed at a 2BF at Kidani and I barely saw the place.

My ideal trip would be for a long weekend - 4 days - during the fall or winter so I could wear shorts in the day and jeans at night, a few good books and reading them in the lounge with the comfy chairs in front of the big fireplace. I would also like to bring my scrapbooking stuff so I could work on some stuff in the room while watching Soapnet and getting caught up with my shows. IF it was warm enough, go to the pool and jacuzzi, shop at Downtown Disney and eat some good food.

Do I want to go to a park? I would probably go to Epcot and also the MK but maybe only one.

I would bring a bunch of food so I wouldn't have that expense and I could eat what I wanted.

AHHH to actually go and do this would be nice, but I am up to my ears in debt and work a second job on top of my FT job just to pay my bills. I also don't know if my DH and DD would even want me to go without having a fit that they weren't going, BUT I want this trip to be about me and not them - selfish as it may seem. Just some peace and quiet with no hassles and to sleep whenever I wanted too - an afternoon nap sounds great!

Nothing like fantasizing!! :rotfl: I have an idea for a new thread: people can file reports on their spur of the moment trips and the rest of us can live vicariously through you!!! GO FOR IT!! :woohoo: (I have a planned trip at Christmas time, but hopefully will do a last minute trip some day - when I have lots of $$$!! :cloud9::cloud9:
