Howdy,
I say go for it!!!
It will give you a chance to do some of the things you didn't have the time to do the first 3 days.
We have back to back 7 day cruise booked for nov and dec of 2006,
Hope it's worth eating peanut butter and jelly for the next 21 months!
Just thinking of all the fun to come,

Actually there is no 3-night back to back. You'll be doing the 3-night and then the 4-night, which means you'll also have a day at sea on the second one. You'll visit Castaway Cay twice and Nassau twice.

I assume you've already compared prices so if the above sounds good to you, sail away and have a great time. :boat:

Bon Voyage

We're doing back-to-back four nights for Thanksgiving this year. The schedule was changed that week, usually the three and four night cruises alternate. We also wanted to do a 7-night, but it will be very hard for us to be away for two consecutive weekends this year. Cruising over a holiday is expensive, but it did solve the problem of whether or not I would have to host the family Thanksgiving dinner this year! I will be enjoying Thanksgiving Day at Castaway Cay!

the first 2 sailings of the 3 night also had been change to get the wonder back on schedule to alt. the 3 night and 4 night because of the holidays.
i was just wondering if the day that we arrive from the first cruise and get ready to reabourd for the second cruise will be a waste of time. the DCL said they would try to put us in the same cabin so we wouldnt have to transfer the luggage but we would have to exsit the ship and reboard at boarding time. i guess we will have to treat it like a port, maybe. or maybe i should just fork over the bank account and do the 7 night. its just so hard because we can only cruise around christmas or easter/springbreak because of the kids in school and dh very busy during the summer months.

If you have a rental car you could drive to the space center or to Cocoa Beach. But I wouldn't consider the terminal a port. I've only been there once though so I'm not 100% positive that there is nothing else there but from what I remember it wasn't too much fun.

Good luck! If you're around for the 12/1 sailing maybe we'll see you there!

Oops, got my months mixed up - I see you are going early Jan. That is what we did this year (4 night Wonder) and it was very nice weather. Enjoy!

We did a three-peat on the Wonder (3/4/3) and loved it! We were in a secret porthole room, so without a verandah I spent a ton of time in the Rainforest. We got three visits to Castawat Cay and pretended that the Nassau stops were a sea day. It was great...I highly recommend it!

just curious how much less expensive is back to back 3 days, or a back to back 3 and 4 day...

To me, I'd rather pay the extra money, and see the 7 day ports, and get the additional menu selections, and other 7 day offerings, such as the adult entertainment, additional shows, etc. 7 day cruise just offers so much more onboard, as well as ports.

Now if there was a significant price difference, it might be tempting to get to enjoy the same amount of time cruising.

For our upcoming back-to-back, we are booked into the same room (2601) so no matter what happens, we don't have to pack up and move our stuff. I've heard that they don't always make you exit and reboard (apparently it's up to Customs), but we're prepared to do that if we have to. We'll just wait in the terminal and watch all the new people boarding the ship. This way we can get a second embarkation photo! We could also be first in line to board (although I would defer that position to a first-time cruising family so that they could have that thrill if they want).

Whether we have to reboard or not, we will already be settled into our room, so there's no worry about unpacking or having our luggage. We plan on wearing our swimsuits (if the weather's good enough) and getting some quality outdoor deck time before the crowd joins us.

We're also thinking about trying to get Palo reservations for the first night of the second cruise, since we'll already have our "dress up" clothes ready and hanging in the closet, and we won't have met our dining partners yet, so we won't know if we're missing some great fun!

For us, a 7-night cruise would involve being out of town for two consecutive weekends, and at that time of year, it puts a large strain on our family business (we provide commercial and residential cleaning services, but also provide setup and cleanup for holiday parties). Sailing even two weeks later works out better for us usually, but because of other commitments this year, that's out of the question!
