thinking of changing plans **updated**

That's exactly what we're doing in November - from Bristol. We were trying to do Disney on a shoe string hence no stop over in NYC - also it's November so we figured it could be cold and didn't want to pack two sets of clothes.

Will you post back after your trip and let us know how the brief stop over was - and how easy it was to transfer? We usually fly non stop from Gatwick to International :goodvibes

So sorry - I just saw your post now!!

I just saw your counter and you leave 10 days after us so we'll still be in Orlando when you arrive!! We'll be there from 24th October to 9th November. However, if I feel I could give you any helpful tips I can get online in WDW and send you a message to let you know! I'm hoping it all goes well.

We'll have a long day of travelling - leaving home at 4am to check in at Shannon at 6am for a 9am flight! We will finally arrive in Orlando at 4.30 US time, 9.30 our time! I think it's doable though - hard to know what temperament our 2 year old will have by then but our boys will be fine I'm sure!

We've left 3 hours between flight times which sounds excessive but we'll need time to freshen up and maybe even change clothes and get something to eat in between.

We booked our flights 4 weeks ago and they've gone up quite a bit since. Woohoo!! Keep a close eye on the flights online though - they've already changed our itinerary - just 20 minutes earlier for our NY to MCO flight so I'm glad I didn't cut it too fine!!

I know what you mean about "a shoe string"! It's frightening how the money side of it adds up - *gulp* - still though, I can't wait!! :teeth:

jns,

We stayed in The Milburn Hotel on the Upper East Side - that neighbourhood was gorgeous - tree-lined, clean, safe, amazing shops and restaurants on your doorstop and a few minutes walk to central park and the Museum of Natural History. I would highly recommend that area and that specific hotel was lovely. It was reasonable at 220 dollars a night (cheap for New York!) - it was a one bedroom suite - king bed, small bathroom with bath and shower, nice size living room and kitchenette. Very nice! New York people were so friendly, it really left an impression on us.

Here's a link to their website if you want to have a look:

We found the Trip Advisor site very helpful for our planning. They have a great New York forum here

Hope that helps! :)

Oh, oh, one last thing :teeth: if you go the official NYC tourism site here you can request a free book on New York with lots of info on restaurants, hotels, tourist spots etc. It's free! A word I love! :)

Thanks Deb for all your help

Check out that hotel looks good :thumbsup2
but there are going to be 5 of us now and it only takes 4

looks like I am going to have to book to rooms :rotfl2:

I have someone in New york looking into rooms for me
so I will leave it to see what him comes back with

As long as we have some where centre to put our head
whats all we want :cheer2:

:wizard: We're doing exactly what you're doing, 4 nights NYC and then flying down to MCO for 2 weeks at disney! Never done this before, so its been great to read the advice on here! Not long to go! :cheer2:
