And the debate between my DH and myself continues. We are seriously considering changing our trip from third week of August to third week of Sept. The travel company said it cost us $50 per person for the plane tickets to be changed. Oh and our room at the CR is not available, so we would have to upgrade which would be another $50 per night. We would have to take DS6 and DD5 out of school for the trip, but are not overly concerned with that. According to the calander we would be there for the first night of MNSSHP. Can anyone tell me a little about that? According to the calander MK closes at 6. So do you have to purchase seperate tickets for the MNSSHP? Any light you can shed on this would be greatly appreciated. :teeth:

Yes, MNSSHP is a hard ticket event. Tickets for adults run somewhere around $36.

Would you still be able to get free dining if you reschedule? That would be a major consideration for me.

Yes, they said the FDP would still be available since we are still coming before Sept 30. We wouldn't even consider changing if we couldn't keep the FDP. :)

If you really want to go to MNSSHP and can afford the upgrades, I say go for it. You only live once!!

MNSSHP is a great event! Well worth it. If you are there for the first night...we will see you there! The park will close early that night, the CMs will usher people to one of the lands those who have tickets to the party. They will give you wrist bands. Those without tickets to the party will have to leave. You will be able to enter the MK solely on your hard ticket at around 4. So a word of advice...go to a different park that day, or don't go to a park at all and save the day on your passes. Check out DTD or swim at the hotel or something. The party is fantastic!! The parade is awesome, the fireworks NOT TO BE MISSED!! Characters you don't see very often come out, and characters are in different costumes. Last year, Mickey was dressed as a court jester. Kids and adults can trick or treat all over the park. Last year the pathway from Toontown to Tomorrowland had Alice and friends, and they were handing out candy from giant teacups!!! The parade...make sure you get a seat early, because the headless horseman rides through the park at the speed of lightening. Last year we didn't get to see him because it rained, and horses and wet blacktop don't mix. So I hope it is nice weather this year so we can see him! It's a great time!!!

We had to change our reservations from the third week of September to the 2nd week because I had the dates for the start of my son's preschool messed up. I was soo happy when I realized we would still be able to catch the party!

If you can swing the additional expense, I'd go for it! We're really looking forward to MNSSHP. We just went in June but MNSSHP and the free dining offer was enough to get us back again! :goodvibes
