Thinking of cancelling trip

This is causing me too much anxiety
I can’t find a single table service restaurant the entire time we are there
(Yes I’ve looked starting 60 days out)
I have a disabled son who needs to sit and eat. (How are we supposed to eat at all if nothing is available?)
I have multiple questions that I need answered by a Disney representative and can get NO ONE on the phone after two days of waiting 8 hours on the phone (not exaggerating).
it’s like Disney doesn’t give a **** if they can’t even answer the phone after 8 hours of waiting for two days.
I don’t even know if they can accommodate my son now.
how are we supposed to even eat?
No room service can we order dominoes pizza or something else to our room and eat but I heard there was no eating in the room at all?
We need a refrigerator in our room to store medicine but there was NO WHERE to put that when booking reservations.
Have tickets booked for May 17-21

We had food delivered in January to AKL without any issue (and there were LOTS of people doing the same - food options there are terrible right now!)

Sounds like Giordano's made it their policy, maybe due to their own Covid-related limited staff

Unless Giordano's isn't delivering pizza to anywhere in the area that doesn't even make sense. Florida is one of the most open states in the nation right now. A pizza guy delivering a pie with a mask on presents no risk.
 

The policy has always been that you meet them in the lobby or out front of the main entrance. I have heard no such thing that you can't order delivery since covid.
You absolutely can still order delivery, some drivers will take it all the way to your room, some won't. We saw plenty of people getting deliveries on our trip in Feb.

I live in FL (tourist area) and a lot of local spots have limited delivery options due to staff issues. Many are short-staffed due to Covid and have eliminated the option altogether or tightened up their delivery area. The restaurant industry has been hit really hard, even if FL was seen as "open" unfortunately.

Definitely agree there is little/no risk for food delivery in regards to Covid safety.

it’s difficult because you want things to be perfect because you’re spending money
AND have a special needs child to accommodate. It’s stressful. I’m sure I’ll calm down once we go.
I got the coral reef restaurant I wanted and I know my son will enjoy that.

I’m glad to see the helpful info people posted. Sometimes you get inaccurate info (like no food in rooms) at just the wrong moment that can be the tipping point into being overwhelmed.

Congrats on getting a dining reservation you wanted.

(I keep looking at reservations for an upcoming trip without much results. fortunately, we don’t have the time or need for a TS ADR on a short trip).

Huh? I am confused, almost everywhere has added delivery here in California. It is rare to find anything that you can't get delivered (food or otherwise) as a result of COVID.

Now, probably to the lobby, but they are saying they deliver. There could be a cut-off time.

Different areas have different experiences, I guess? Our restaurants, by and large, have been at full capacity for indoor dining for months (and some added vast outdoor spaces, too, which upped their capacity even more), but still struggle with staffing. So, some of our favorite local spots have eliminated or greatly reduced their in-house delivery option so they can focus on the in person dining because they simply don't have the staff to do both delivery AND 100% dine-in. Others (like my favorite Chinese restaurant) are now closed 3 days a week because they don't have the staff. My favorite seafood spot is now dinner only. The deep dish pizza spot up the road changed their delivery area from 5 miles to 3 miles.

It's all a moot issue as Giordano's clearly state (per their website, quoted above) they deliver to resorts.
