Thinking of booking Transatlantic...any feedback?

We did the westbound in 2007 and thought it was amazing. But my family loves all those days at sea -- it was so relaxing. We had done the 10-day Med cruise before this and it was an exhausting itinerary, so this was a well deserved rest. Also liked that with the westbound you gain hours rather than lose them.

I've done west and eastbound and definitely find westbound easier on me time wise but I'm from Europe so it just means we get the jet lag on way home rather than throughout the cruise.

There are more activities than you can ever think of! I am the type of person who can not sit still and doesn't read books and I can tell you that I have never been bored on a Disney cruise! I would definitely have a look at past navigators to get ideas about the activities but there is so much to do! I am waiting out for 2017 WBTA at the moment as can't do this years due to my sisters 40th birthday but otherwise I would definitely be on it!

I have completed two westbound transatlantic cruises and they are the best! The time actually goes by really quickly but at the same time I feel I got a lot accomplished as far as activities, Palo's, shows, relaxing and meet & greets with characters. I am looking forward to the next time I schedule another transatlantic cruise.

I would do one in a heartbeat if they weren't during the school year! My husband teaches and my kids play sports in May/September so we aren't easily able to go then.

Just be aware, that the longer cruises will spoil you. Even back-to-back 7-day cruises are just not quite as relaxing. We truly enjoyed our WBTA. It was so lovely to sit on Deck 4 and watch the ocean go by. You also have the time to go to the Spa and, if you want, more than 1 meal at Palo. There are usually not as many kids on board and therefore there is more time for interaction with the characters. On our WBTA, Cinderella stopped by the Promenade Lounge before dinner and danced with the kids who were there. They also had a sleep-over with Goofy.

That's what I'm worried about. We did the EBTA last year (as well as the 2 7-night cruises immediately following), and I'm scared that our upcoming 7-night cruise is going to be way too short....

It will seem short, but you can still relax [it that's what you want to do]. The chairs on Deck 4 are normally NOT full.

That's the one thing that I'm dreading. We've done the westbound TA and it was great gaining that 5 hours (one each sea day), but losing those 5 hours is going to be a mess, IMO.

My family will be taking their fourth transatlantic cruise in May. Needless to say, we think they are fabulous. There is more than enough to do and the extra sea days are filled with things you don't normally get to do.

I'm not sure how that would go for me. Never had that option. I don't believe DCL is one of the lines that does this.

Yes, the little card reminder they give you to turn your clocks back/forward is always left on the bed at turn down service.

I have a terrible time with jet lag in either direction. I want to take my daughter to London when she graduates high school in three years so I think an eastbound would be perfect as when we arrive we'll be on the right time and when we fly home we'll have plenty of time to sleep weird hours and get over it all.

DH had a hard time adjusting to the EBTA in 2013. We're trying a WBTA in 2017. Unfortunately, it's not on DCL.

That's correct a 7 night cruise is way too short. That's what makes the transatlantic and Panama Canal so good. 2 weeks for about the price of one week on the fantasy.
