We leave in 33 days & have been thinking about adding onto our DVC at OKW but we've never stayed there. I checked and there is availability before our already scheduled trip. Would you do it? I need a persuasive argument as I think switching flights won't be much hassle. HELP!

Stayed at OKW in Dec because, like you, I really wanted to try it. We disliked it. Paper thin walls (really noisy neighbors) and a dingy room. Terrible mold problem in the bathroom. Until all of the buildings are redone, I'm not sure I'd make a special trip and rearrange travel to stay one night. Maybe for the Poly, yes, but not OKW.

I love OKW! Large rooms! Beautiful grounds! But don’t like the QS, love everything else

We stayed at OKW over 20 times in 20 years. Never had any problems in the villa, with the buses or with dining. Many bathrooms in Florida will have mildew in the bathroom because of humidity, but it's not black mold. Two different animals. If you are in a studio, you can always put a pillow or blanket between the two doors that connect the studios to one bedrooms to make the two bedroom lockoff. That's the only location we've had a bit of noise from neighbors. But we've never thought the walls were paper thin at all. We bought our first DVC points at OKW in 1997 and really enjoy staying there.

Stayed at OKW for the first time last December. We thought it was great! We didn't have any noise from neighbors and were very close to the hospitality house. In my opinion, adding a day is always a good thing!

We love it. The QS is not bad, there are actually two options during the day - at the main building and also at Turtle Pond pool. We ate there a few times on the Dining Plan.

We've stayed at SOuth Pointe and Turtle Pond and both were great. The bus service is always great and the stop at the parks is usually really close. The 1 bedrooms are enormous as are the porches that have full size tables. We love having a glass of wine outside in the evening.

I too would like to check out OKW someday. We never head to the parks on our first day and we always have dinner at Disney Springs, so I can play the boat ride to DS card. The boat is why we always stay at POR at the start of every trip.

Wow. I feel so lucky...I called the airline to change the flight and was told 100 dollars per ticket. hmm.decided to think on it & then when OKW wasn't showing a studio, i thought to pass. talked to hubby & he wanted to go for the 1bedroom at OKW ..so I called the airline back & was prepared to take the hit...and they said my original flight had a schedule change so they waived the 100 change fees...rebooked me at a cheaper rate then i grabbed the 1 bedroom! so we are all set. Now I just need to find a nice relaxing room......with a water view on the balcony.... :) super excited!

I’m so excited for you! I love having coffee on the balcony while overlooking the view (golf course or lake, can’t go wrong)! Perfect vacation away from all the park hustle and bustle!
