Thinking of a trip in september... first time!

I spend a lot of time in orlando. probably too much

I'm thinking of booking a couple of nights 26th to 28th September at DLP, staying in the Santa Fe and travelling by Eurostar from Ebbsfleet, standard breakfast basis, on the rio grande.

If I book through disney and eurostar, it comes out around £700 (including one character breakfast on the 27th).

So, my questions... any tricks to getting this cost down (but still staying on-site and travelling with eurostar direct)?

And, which park do you think would take longer to 'do'? We're not massive on shows it's all about the atmosphere, rides and shops

Are you planning on booking the Eurostar through Disney? If you are then my advice would be don't! Book them seperately and you'll save money.

If you can stand to wait another couple of weeks to book then I would - the current summer booking offers end on 28th June and if the offers work the same way as they have in the past then a couple of days after this there should be another sale of some sort. However I just checked your dates and the offer there is at the moment is 10% and kids under 12 free. If you've got kids between the ages of 7 and 12 then you might not find a deal to beat this. On the other hand if you've got under 7's (who are pretty much always free) or no children then you'd probably be best off waiting.

There's just the two of us so kid offers makes no odds to us at all

I noticed that - booking eurostar with disney was an extra 150 or so, just for the disney express service. not worth it to me... so i had been looking separate, accommodation through the disney website and eurostar through the eurostar website.

I will definitely wait - if i remember rightly last year they did the 40% off promo on selected dates, so will wait and see what pops up...

It's very unlikely that Santa Fe will be completely full at the end of September (all school in Europe are open at that time), so you'll probably get better deal as time get nearer your travel date.
Also you might want to consider the Cheyenne Hotel, it's just a little more expensive, but it's much more enjoyable. Very nice theming.

The only other question i have is park entry - i know tickets are included in the hotel price, but will it be for 2 days as i am going for 2 nights or it will be for 3 days to include my day of arrival as well?

You will each get a 3-day park hopper ticket included in your hotel package, which includes your arrival date and your departure date.

my tips would be - don't book a rio grande room, they are no different to any other room at the Santa Fe and they fill those rooms anyway, whether you've paid the extra or not.

And don't do the character breakfast at Cafe Mickey, do character lunch or dinner there instead (and eat off the a la carte menu and pay for what you've eaten, rather than pay in advance and eat 3 courses from a set menu).
