Thinking of 192 our of Melbourne instead of the beeline?

Going to DW last weekend in April.

I have been thinking about taking 192 out of Melbourne, through St. Cloud to the Turnpike and exit at Osceola.

OR..taking 192 up 15 to 417 and across to Osceola.


These routes are as opposed to I-95 to the Beeline and then South of 417.

Are the two above alternatives good ones or should I just stick to the Beeline. The Beeline is further but probably faster, but how much faster I'm not sure. It's not about avoiding tolls, it's about avoiding the Beeline. That's one crazy ribbon of highway.

Any opinions will be appreciated.

192 from Melbourne is one lane each way during much of the road. If you get stuck behind someone forget about going the speed limit. The Beeline would be faster most times.

I have driven 192 TO Melbourne a couple times. It is a LONG drive. I prefer highways, usually.

My brother lives in Melbourne and we travel from Disney to visit usually once during each trip or he comes to us. 192 is one lane each way and last time my brother came to Disney there was a fatal accident and he waited there in traffic for awhile before he actually turned around and took 95 to the Beeline. He heard that people were backed up for 2 hours. We have taken it many times and its OK if you do not get stuck behind a truck or a person who goes below the limit.

Thanks! I sort of expected the answers I got. Just thought I'd give it a shot. So I guess Beeline here I come.

I've never driven 192 east of St. Cloud, but even those last few miles between Kissimmee and WDW are so heavily trafficed and full of red lights that those last few miles alone make it worthwhile to go up to the Beeline.

Sometimes it takes longer to get from Kissimmee to World Drive along 192 that it does to get all the way out to MCO along the Beeline!

I know about 192 west of St Cloud into Kiss-a-mee. A true nightmare. I am talking about hoping on the Turnpike in St Cloud before I get that far on 192.

I live in Melbourne and we ALWAYS take the Beeline to Disney - and with the 417 it's just that much better! It's faster and safer. I don't even like to take 192 in Melbourne anymore but that's a different story!!

Yep! The same place. Some of us natives have been calling it that way before the mouse got here. A bit like us using the term, "Wallet-Mart" or the BK Lounge!
