I'm probably asking this at the wrong place but I'm sure someone here will know. How far out can you make your priority dining request or whatever else you need to attend the Candlelight Ceremony. We plan to go to WDW in
December for the first time ever and I want a heads up on whatever I need to know, and how far out so I can put it on my calendar. Thanks!

IIRC, Disney released the CP Dinner packages in August last year. Just keep an eye on the boards - especially the Theme Parks & the Restaurant Boards. As soon as the packages are released (or rumored to be released, LOL), someone will post.

Best wishes -

NANASUE,
we were a wdw for our first dec trip last month, you will love all of it. Make sure to visit all the resorts to see the beautiful decorations, the hugh christmas trees at all the parks are amazing. Not sure if you know this or not but even with ps yu still have to wait in a pretty long line to get seating at the prcession. Mom and i went the first nite just to see what it was like (no ps's) we stood outside the rope, and were able to see the whole show just fine, decided not to make any ps after that. Just some thing to keep in mind it was VERY cold the week we were there and felt much colder at nite sitting (standing) for an hour or so, i suggest you bring a blanket, seems strange for florida but quite a few people had them (they must have been veterans)

Whatever you do DO NOT MISS the MVMCP (avoid weekends) this was so special, We ate at 5:30 at the Liberty Tree Inn -good food- (with ticket you can get in to this private party as early as 4:00). They have different shows all nite, the parade was terrific, free hot choc and cookies, We were there until after 1:00am and were having soo much fun didn't even realize it was that late.

Have lots of fun, any questions just pm me (of course there are alot of people with a much more knowledge then me,i just love talking about it)

We do the Candlelight Processional every year on Christmas Day(Gary Sinise is the narrator every year at this time), and we get the dining package because it's so hard to find a place to eat on Christmas Day without any ressies at all, and you can make these dinner ressies so far in advance(the dinner is the same price as it would be even if you weren't going to the Processional). Most restaurants are pretty close to sold out around Christmas time. Yes, those with PS have to stand in a very long line, but you get in before everyone else does, so you get the closest seats. Those without PS have to take what's in back. This year that meant that those with PS were the only ones with a roof over our heads, and it poured rain for most of the day. We were at the 5:45 show, and in the second row over by the percussion instruments.

Besides visiting the resorts to see all the lovely decorations, don't forget to see the Osborne Lights at MGM. It isn't quite as good as it was when they decorated the individual houses--they decorate NewYork Street now--but it still is wonderful!

We had our first Disney in December trip and by far the Candlelight Processional narrated by Gary Sinise was my favorite of all the experiences we've had at Disney so far!

Thanks for all of the information! We have visited WDW many times and I have all of the stuff I need to know (making Cindy ressies) in my memory bank, but I'm a newbie at WDW Christmas. I need all the help I can get! I want to make Christmas special for my kids and grandkids.

We went to Candlelight Processional last year with our DD (age 4). We walked back and forth several times by the giant waiting line for seats and managed to just fine by showing up at showtime. I believe the packages have you sitting down front under the covered area.

If you have young children, I would recommend not going for the front seats...young kids want to dance and wiggle about and it can be rather long for them. This might make the show less enjoyable for those around you and, therefore, you. Also, it can be very cold at night - hard to sit still when you are freezin'.

However, the show was fantastic. DD 'loved' it - except for the 'talking' parts we had to keep her interested throughout. It really depends on our knowing the kids in your party whether dinner reservations are needed. Also, going on a weekday to the earlier show is less crowded.

Just my opinion. Have a great trip.
Karen

It depends on when you are going. In the first three weeks of December, you can usually get standby. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are usually booked up with packages.
