DH and I REALLY want to be there for the 50th. I was at DLs 50th and I’m gonna. We’d to bookend it 🤪. We are thinking renting DVC Points. I’ve NEVER done anything like that before. I’m nervous for so many reasons. What are things I need to know and do in order to put my mind at ease? How far in advance should we do this? Can we still get a DDP? Is the reservation in our name? Is this a parking lot swap? 🤣🤪 See, NO IDEA what to do? 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

DVC members can reserve their home resort, the resort(s) where their membership is deeded, at 11 months before travel, all other DVC resorts at 7 months out. If you have a specific resort in mind, that means for October 1, 2021, you can book in November 2020. If you are using a rental broker, which is probably a good idea for a first timer, I would contact one about mid-October to get on their list. Two oft recommended DVC Rental brokers include. but are not limited to, The Timeshare Store and David's DVC Rentals

You can add any of the DDPs, but it must be paid for when it is added to the reservation by the DVC Owner. I don't think DDP pricing for 2021 has been released yet.

Your DVC reservation will include free parking at the DVC Resort and at the theme parks. You will not receive daily housekeeping, If your reservation is 8 nights of more, you will receive a rull cleaning on day 4. If your reservation is less than 8 nights, you will receive fresh towels on Day 4. You can request fresh towels anytime by calling housekeeping. They previously had charged us for that, but apparently there is no longer a charge for fresh towels at anytime.

Good luck.

DVC owners can make reservations 11m in advance at their home resort, and 7m in advance anywhere else. October is peak DVC time, so you’ll for sure want to book at the 11m window. You can go with a rental broker, but you may have more luck going directly with an owner. The reason for this is owners don’t get paid as much when they rent their points through a broker, so some brokerages have shortage of owners since owners opt to rent their points on their own. Disboards has a Rent board here you can check out to contact owners directly if you choose that route. Good luck!

I know with David's you can put in tiered requests and I believe it is up to 3. I would recommend being flexible and put in for all 3. I have experience with David's on both sides of the transaction and couldn't recommend them more highly for renters or owners. There will indeed be a lot of competition for reservations during this time so get the reservation requests in as early as they will be accepted (I do believe David's will take them up to 30 days before the 11 month window opens, but check their site or call well in advance if you choose to go that route).

When I put in for our November trip, David's (https://dvcrequest.com/) still allowed to put in at 12 months, and then they start looking at 11 months.
