Thinking about staying on the ship

We're ship people (no matter the ship). We've done a number of cruises now and the ports are basically the same for us. I don't regret not getting off the ship. I don't spend a lot of time on beaches, and island tours are nice but can be kind of a "done one, do I really want to do another?" situation.

There's certainly no reason to feel regret or disappointment staying on the ship. You've paid for the ship amenities - use them!

We haven't done the Eastern itinerary yet (we were switched to Western due to hurricane damage) so I don't have personal experience in those ports but the Virgin Islands looks so beautiful - I personally would not be able to stay on the ship there. We booked this itinerary to visit those locations.

Our second time doing the Western, we stayed on the ship in Cozumel and only got off briefly in Falmouth. It was nice to not be in a hurry on those days. I can see the appeal. I'm sailing with NCL in a couple of weeks and planning to stay on the ship in Nassau.

I'm looking forward to my first 7 day cruise. (I've done two 4 day) We picked the Eastern because it had more sea days. Now I'm thinking about staying on the ship every day except Castaway Cay day.
Do you think I'll be missing anything? I'm more concerned about regrets than boredom.
I don't know which ports are included in the sailing, but when we did the Eastern in 2014 we stayed on the ship in St. Marteen and got off and walked the port area in St. Thomas. We felt like we could have stayed on in St. Thomas as well...We LOVE the ship, and have been to so many islands on previous cruises that we DO NOT feel like we are missing out by staying on the ship. We love enjoying the pool/slides without the crowds and DD loves the kids club (one is typically in Open House in port, so we enjoy it as a family). We look for sailings with more sea days.

You didn't experience St. Thomas by "got off and walked the port area". The port area is not the beauty of the island.

To the OP, what do you like to do? Perhaps, the ship is the best place to maximize your cruise experience.
