Thinking about late July...

Might try to squeeze in a trip late July before the kids go back to school.
How bad is it? We typically go early May before the schools let out.

Do's.....Dont's???

Do be at RD. Don't be there between noon and 5pm unless you like to sweat.
Do drink lots of water. Don't drink soft drinks. The salt in those things will be your worst enemy.
Do enjoy an Icee-type beverage (snow cone, etc). Don't eat ice cream; your stomach will not enjoy it.
Do wear sunscreen. Don't forget to wear sunscreen.
Do wear tennis shoes and bring a change of socks. Don't wear flip flops unless you like having blisters between your toes.
Do stop for a break in an air conditioned show/dark ride when your body tells you you're getting too hot.
Do get FP+ for water rides.
Do wear a hat with a brim, but try to find one with a mesh back so you can get air flow.

That's a small start.

Do you mean crowds or weather? Crowds aren't horrible but it will be hotter than the surface of the sun. Period. Don't think you can go go go from park opening til closing, you just can't. Where are you from - are you used to high heat & crazy high humidity? Once our kids were older we found it worked best for us to sleep in, have a pool/resort day, head to a nice dinner around 5-6pm & then close the parks (MK is often open til 1-2am July). Or do that in reverse if you like getting up early & getting everything done before lunch. Water is a MUST - and lots of it - either decide on a way to travel with water or budget extra to buy water in the parks.

The only thing that drove us mad during a late July trip was the large tour groups that tend to visit during that type of the year. We tried our best to steer clear of them, but sometimes we couldn't. Luckily on several occasions, awesome CM's helped us out when we would get "swept up in the sea of a group".

That being said, any summer trip is going to be super hot. We make sure to take mid-day breaks to be out of the heat during peak sunshine. We enjoy the parks at night during the summer because the sun is down.

Make sure to hydrate yourself at all times. Also we found Frogg Toggs to provide relief in the heat.

For shoes, we would have died if we wore sneakers. Instead, we wear Keens sandals, which are great because they dry really fast after getting wet and your feet don't slide around in them.

DO NOT forget sunscreen. It's a must.

We're from Alabama so it may actually be hotter than Orlando depending on the day. At least there is usually a breeze of some sort in FL. Annual Passes expire in Oct so thinking about trying to get in all the Magic we can. LOL!

Then you're a heat & humidity pro! I say go - I'm all for getting more from your APs!
