Hi all you experts!! We were considering going to Disney the last week in February (our school is out the entire week for Mardi Gras). However, I was looking on Mousesavers.com and read that this time period is considered peak season!! Why in heavens would February be considered peak and summer regular season?? Isn't it more crowded in July than February?? Some friends of ours went this past Mardi Gras (1st week in March) and said the crowds were minimal. The hotel rates are higher in peak so we would rather not pay those prices even with a discount.

Any advice would be appreciated!!!

Here in the Northeast, alot of the schools give the 3rd week of February as winter vacation. It's usually the week that President's Day falls. From that point on, it's considered the beginning of spring breaks for colleges and other schools.

also, january, february, and march (actually until easter) are considered tourist season here in florida. we have many northerners visit us then.

i know that this past february was fairy less crowded at wdw but i remember when you could not move at the parks in february. i remember visiting and having a four hour wait for indiana jones adventure! :D

I know our school vacation here in Boston has always been peak season in WDW :( It is why we never go then, and try the off times like the first week in Dec.
