thinking about DVC a lot

We are thinking about joing the DCV community. I have read a lot about what others have said but one bit of information I have not been able to find is how much the annual fees are. I assume they vary by property.

If you purchase points from all different resorts - which one is your "home"?

Is there a list located somewhere that shows you non WDW locations you can use your points at?

Any information you can provide would be helpful.

I can answer the 1st Q! If you buy points @ all 7 resorts. They all are your home & you can book them @ the 11th month window.

We own 8 contracts between OKW and BWV.

Dues range between properties - OKW is the lowest and Vero Beach is the highest per point.

I can answer the 1st Q! If you buy points @ all 7 resorts. They all are your home & you can book them @ the 11th month window.

But you can only book them for the maximum value of your points at that resort. So if you have purchased (for example) 50 points at each DVC resort, you can only book up to 50 points worth at each resort at the 11 month window. You wouldn't be able to book one week in a two-bedroom villa at one resort (at 11 months).

Go to www.disneyvacationclub.com and use the pull down menu "other vacation experiences". This will give you a recap of the 4 vacation collections, but no real details of resorts. I'd suggest you call a DVC guide and ask them for the information. I would think they would give you this if you're a prospective member. Good luck!

Most of the non-DVC stays are not really cost effective. If you want to do vacations other than Disney, you might check out some of the other timeshares. Dean knows a lot about other timeshares. Also try looking at TUG (Timeshare Users Group).

We have three "homes" since we have points at OKW, VWL and BCV. The points we own at each of those three resorts can be used at the 11 month time for the specific home resort. We can't use OKW points at 11 months at BCV. But at 7 months we can use them to make a reservation at any resort.

Ditto this! We are also prospective members--I spoke to a guide last week and she's sending me a packet of info that covers all of that info in detail. They are so helpful and know answers to qustions that you haven't even thought of yet Oh, and absolutely no sales pressure!!! Don't hesitate to call them.
