Thinking about doing Peter Pan theme for MNSSHP. Is it overdone?

We are a family of 6 and planning to do MNSSHP next week. I'm making our costumes and we like doing theme stuff. My daughter is an ideal "tinkerbell," so I think we are gonna go with the Peter Pan theme. But just wondering if you've recently been to MNSSHP if there are already a TON of Peter Pan themed costumes running around? I don't want to have to worry about the kiddos getting lost in the mix. We'd be going as Captain Hook, Wendy, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell, John, and Michael. We might go with another theme, but it's getting down to the wire with only a few days for me to make everyone's costumes!! LOL

Also, does it feel odd going as a Disney character at Disney World? I don't want to insult the "real" characters, you know. Or do a majority of guests tend to go as Disney characters?

You know, I didn't see a single Peter Pan themed group when we went to MNSSHP this year. A LOT of Toy Story groups, and the Mad Hatter and Alice were popular also. Last year we saw a huge family group dressed as every character from Peter Pan. It was my favorite group of the night. I say go for it.

There are many, many people dressed as Disney characters. No need to feel weird about it.

Thanks!! The kids are actually excited about it!! And so am I, even if my son who will be Peter Pan said I'm a little "wide" to be Wendy. LOL Guess I'll have to see if my daughter can help with some extra pixie dust!! Hee,hee

We're doing Peter Pan there next week! DD(18 mos) is Tink, DH is Peter, I am Wendy (also on the wide side), FIL is Capt Hook, and MIL will be Tiger Lilly. I think this year's big costume craze is anything Alice in Wonderland.

I recall seeing a few Peter Pan characters, but no groups of characters. And most of what I saw were girls dressed as Tinker Bell. I only recall seeing one Peter Pan and one Captain Hook.

I think the Peter Pan group is a fantastic idea. Of course if you do that then you should totally catch Captain Hook for some pictures.

I haven't been yet this year, but saw quite a few Pan themed groups last year. All of them were very cute though! And different and creative in different ways.

We did a Peter Pan theme and I don't remember seeing alot of anybody else except Tinkerbell. There were alot of Tinkerbells. My sister was the Tick Tock Croc and she got alot of comments, CM's loved her costume. We also had alot of fun with Hook after the Villians show. The bag my Tinkerbell niece is holding is big confetti, she used it as pixie dust.

Make sure Capt Hook sees you. We were 4 adults wearing those Peter Pan hats you can get in Epcot in England. His reaction was priceless!

We are thinking of doing the same thing next year with Captain hook, mommy pirate, Peter, Wendy, Tink and Tiger Lily.

I've seen a few families doing the Peter Pan theme, but definitely the theme I've seen the most is Alice in Wonderland. Personally, I think that if you have a theme for your family, do it. It is awesome to see how creative families get when there's a theme.

Since this is along the lines of the OPs question, I hope it's ok that I tag mine on ... we're thinking of Snow White and the Dwarves for next year (there are 8 of us) - have you seen many groups like this at MNSSHP in recent years?

To the OP - I think the Peter Pan idea is an awesome one ... go for it!

Well, the fabric is bought and "Michael's" outfit is cut out and ready to be sewn. So, I guess we will be doing the Peter Pan theme afterall I'll make sure to post pics when we get back. We are planning to either go next week on the 19th or on the 26th. Any recommendations on which would be a better night to go?? Thanks!!
