Thinking about a trip to DLP

Hi all,

DH and I are currently planning our first ever Disney trip, to WDW next month, and have been talking about going away again over the October half term. Paris was high up the list, and I said I would like to do a day trip to DLP as part of that, which DH is fairly happy with at the moment.

Ideally, I'd love to do the Halloween party, so would be staying late, but I have a few questions.

Would we want to try and visit both parks during the day, or is it better to just do one park if we only have one day?

I assume like WDW we would need two tickets- one to visit during the day, and one for the party- is that right?

What is transport like from central Paris? Would we have a problem getting back after a late night finish?

(To be honest, ideally, I'd love to do two days and see both parks, and stay overnight, but the prices of the DLP hotels are a bit much for us!)

Any thoughts/advice/tips gratefully received!

I agree prices at DLP hotels are pretty high for October. Have you thought about a partner hotel such as kyriad or Hotel L'Elysee at Val d'europe? Then you could go into Paris for a day trip. The L'Elysee is near the train station so it would be really easy from there. The parks will be very busy so would definitely recommend 2 days to do most things. Haven't been to Halloween party, but yes you would need park tickets and party ticket. Halloween is great at DLP, we are quite tempted with a little trip ourselves!

There are many other hotels in Val d'Europe to choose from, there is a very cheap Ibis Budget which has rooms from 47€ / £37 a night. It's located right next to the train station in Val d'Europe and the journey takes about 5 mins to DLP and the trains run late into the night.

There is also an Ibis hotel next door, with rooms from about £50 per night. You would have to buy your park tickets separately or depending on how long you intend visiting the park for an Annual Passport might work out cheaper.

Two days are always going to be preferable to one ..... but it's very easy to get to/from Paris, it's only 40 minutes on the train. If you do decide to overnight at DLP definitely consider staying offsite as with DLP the majority of offsite hotels are closer to the parks than the onsite ones at WDW are and there are lots of even more reasonably priced hotels one or two train stops away.

IMO though if you're planning to be staying in Paris and only visiting DLP as a one day trip I'd avoid the Halloween party this time, I'd do DLP on a different day and leave the party for another year.

I visited Disneyland Paris in May (my second trip) and both times I travelled from Central Paris on the RER line. Very easy, about 10E each way.

I would suggest taking two days to do the parks. To save money, I'd buy a park-hopper for one of the days and a single-admission for the other. This is because you can do Disney Studios in half a day, and Disneyland Park in a full day. You'll want to go back to Disneyland Park after your half-day at the Studios as there isn't much to do there.

Enjoy your trip! Keep in mind, however, that I found Disneyland Paris to be much more expensive than Walt Disney World (I will be going for my 13th visit in two weeks). Also, I found Disneyland Park to be in need of some upkeep.

Thanks for the helpful tips, guys! We've seen some reasonable deals for Kyriad, so that's definitely given us something to think about... Need to check out some central Paris hotels to compare what we'd get, especially as the train sounds pretty reasonable.
