DD and family are headed to the world. I'm thinking about my own trip and surprise them at the resort.
Since they are linked as 'Friends/Family' how do I pull this off without tipping them off? Is switching each to OFF in MDE enough?

You can control how much you share via F/F. If you're not on the same resort reservation, or sharing any common plans during this upcoming trip, make sure you're only exchanging "Only Plans We Share" in the app. You go to the app, Profile, F&F, then click on the individuals you want to keep your plans secret from. Once you are there and they know you're there, you could switch it back, if you wanted to. Hope that helps and hope the surprise goes well!!

Thanks, I haven't booked yet.
Poking around the app I can see 'their' ticket selection after switching to "only plans we share". Probably not doing something correct.

Chatted with CM.......she recommended 1) setting up a new account or 2) unlinking from F/F, which might be a tip off.
Not sure I understand the new account not messing up the original account as both will contain the same info.
Also "only shared plans" designation has to be done on both ends.

I agree with above - don’t create a new account. Too much potential for unintended consequences!

Hopefully that means you could click “only shared plans” and they wouldn’t see yours, even though you’d see theirs because they’re still set to share all plans with you?

That makes a lot of sense to me. I expect that's how it should be working.

Not everyone reacts well to surprises. I’m sure she’d love to see you but if the surprise disrupts plans it may not be appreciated.
I agree. Maybe they want to make memories/have special moments on their own and your presence might not be welcome.

I would instead plan for another trip with them in the future.

They wanted us to go with them but unfortunately we couldn't commit. They welcome the help with the 4 and 1 year olds.

Your cautious perspectives don't apply here. :eeyore:
