I have 43 banked points that need to be used, plus another 11 points available if I need them. I called MS today to check on availability at HH and VB, but both were full. I think I am going to call back tomorrow and see if I can get a studio at SSR, and do a non-park trip. My 18 year old DS is heading off to college at the end of August, so this will probably be our final trip as a family for a while. My other son is just a year behind him. We did just spend Easter week at SSR in a GV, but the boys both brought along friends (8 boys in all) and we didn't really spend that much time together since we usually went in different directions once we hit the parks.

I know we will spend time simply hanging out at SSR and going to DTD. We have been to the Adventurer's Club before - maybe we will try the Comedy Club this time. Any other suggestions on fun things to do without going into the parks?

Thanks!

It was just DH and me but we did the backstage tour and then did Cali Grill (and a roundtrip ride on the monorail) for our evening entertainment. We loved it.

I'll bet your boys would love to rent the WaterMouse boats - my daughters are 14 and 19 and they loved them!!! Especially the 14 year old!

jellyrolls
mini-golf
outlet shopping
sitting by a "quiet" pool with a good book
walk to artist pallete for b'fast
bike around SSR
take the DVC tour
evening on the BW (street performers, maybe eat at BRG outside, and ppl watch. snuggle in the gazebo, watch illuminations from the bridge)
take the monorail, & get off at each resort to check out their gift shops
hang out at AKL for a late afternoon/eve & drinks
rent watermice (from the GF or poly ~ the lagoon is the best place, imho)
DTD:
raglan road (you can just have drinks; the entertainment is great!!)
read all the magnets in the magnet store (DH loves that place:confused3 lol)
watch a magic show (magic store, of course;) )
build a mr potato head

btw, we really enjoy the comedy club:thumbsup2

The fireworks specialty cruises are wonderful (a little pricey but since it may be your last family trip for awhile. . .) You can order food and have it delivered to the boats. We did a birthday cruise for my daughter's 20th. She loved it!

Enjoy being together!!

Well, I got my reservation today - four nights in August in a studio at SSR. I am really looking forward to a relaxing and carefree trip! Thanks for your suggestions on things to do. I was getting kind of fidgety without a trip in the works and nothing to plan! I feel much better now:yay:

We do no park trips a lot, we enjoy off site areas also but love staying at the resorts on property.
