I have a brand new 120GB iPod. Last week I synced it and all was well. So, I added more songs to my iTunes and went to sync again. A message came up that said my iPod could not be synced.

So, I did a "restore". I tried to sync it again. No luck. Today I downloaded the newest version of iPod siftware..... Now I can't sync or restore. I get "Unknown error 48", or something like that.

It may well be broken, but I know that there are 5 steps that they recommend on the Apple site that are supposed to fix almost all problems. Restore is one of them, but there are 4 others. You can find them under Support on the Apple website. Good luck.

I had a similar problem with my 80g Classic. I read somewhere to plug the USB cable into the USB port on the back of the CPU rather than the front - and that worked for some reason.

Hope this help!

Susan
