OK, well I've been reading everything posted on this site and thinking about joing dvc for a while now. My dh has said to go ahead and join if I want. Now I just have to take the plunge! I'm using a part of my tax return for the down payment, so I need that to hurry! I am so excited. I can't wait to call my guide, Julie in the morning. Now I just have to decide when our first trip home will be. I have one planned with my whole family- Sister, Mom, MIL, etc in June of '05. I'd like for just my dh and I to go before then, though. Any suggestions as to a good time for just the two of us? We will have to be after November since that's when he'll get vacation time. Thanks!

The food and wine festival is a great adult time. You could get a room at either the BCV or the BWV and walk back and forth to EPCOT. This year it runs until November 16. The holidays are also a great time to go but it is very busy.

Good luck and congratulations on your decision.

Yes, the holidays (early December) are a great time to go. However, be aware that it may be too cool to swim, that's the only disadvantage (unless, like us, you don't swim-then there's no disadvantage!) The annual meetings of the different DVC resorts are in early December, and they're a great way to meet other members-going once is kind of fun! And you can't beat the CP, decorations, Tree-Lighting, Osborne Lights (hopefully back next year), etc. I think it's a great idea to frequent this board before you join-you learn some great things and meet alot of nice fellow members. I wish I'd checked here before we joined-it definitely wouldn't have changed my decision to join (if anything strengthened it), but I would have learned about the resale route to joining.

Hi,

Congrats on your decision!!! You'll love it!!!

"Wellllcome...".....

(you can have the rest when you join!!;) ;) )

Enjoy the planning - I think that's most of the fun!!:sunny:

the best time to go is when we always go. Late October early November.

Crowds are down and the Food and Wine Festival is on.

Someone pass me the Icewine!! :earseek:

If you want to go after November, but before June, there are a couple of really great times to go. Early December is low points and great holiday decor, but availablility might be low, since many reserve at the 11 month mark for this. You might also consider January, since that is a great time to get ressies, and again, the points are low. Swimming in Dec. and Jan. isn't always possible, but you will get a good feel for the resorts, and the crowds will be non-existant in the parks.

DH & I would love an adults only trip during the annual Flower & Garden show.

I can't wait! Thanks for your advice guys and gals. My husband's first trip was in April of 2000 for our Honeymoon. It wasn't crowded at all and I hope we can go again during a less busy time. I'm planning on calling my guide Monday since I got too busy at work today to call. This will be a weekend I actually want to hurry up and get over!:bounce:
