Think I know the answer to the question re waitlisting before I ask it, but hoping I am wrong …

I’ll ask it anyway. Have been waitlisted for a BC or BW studio for late May for re 3 weeks now. Is there any way to find out where I might be on this list? TIA
 
You may want to call member services. We were waitlisted for bwv in June, missing one day in our trip. Called to see about making a reservation with cash for the one day, only to find out our wait-list had come through the next day.
 

Call and see if it’s already been filled. I got the weekend of May 21 as two separate single day waitlists last month at BC. Plus it’s almost the 31 day mark so people might be canceling soon.
 
The reason there is no way to find out "where you are" is because of the nature of the waitlist.

Example:
On April 1st, Mickey puts in a waitlist for a BWV Preferred Studio for July 1-4 (3 nights).

On April 2nd, Minnie puts in a waitlist for a BWV Preferred Studio for July 3-5 (2 nights).

On April 3, Donald puts in a waitlist for a BWV Preferred Studio for July 2 only (1 night).

A week later, on April 8, Daisy cancels her week at BWV Preferred for June 27-July 3.

Donald's waitlist fills! He gets that night of July 2 and does his happy duck dance. However, neither Mickey nor Minnie's waitlist fills, because the nights of July 3 and 4 are not available. So even though they waitlisted BEFORE Donald, because the whole of their waitlist must match and inventory is not held for partials, they are kept waiting.
 
I called the other day to make sure if my waitlist for if my Poly Lakeview studio for 3 nights came through, that my other reservation would be canceled. I have been booking and canceling things and I want to make sure everything was noted correctly. Well, the CM says, , so we are canceling your CC reservation for Poly and I say, only if it comes through and she says, it came through !!!

I couldn’t believe it. It must have come through that morning. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻Your waitlist comes through.😎👍🏻
 
Sure seems to be a lot of people getting waitlists answered while contacting Member Services. Crazy thought… but just wondering if Disney is still manpower-short and they aren’t diligently pursuing waitlists & notifications? Whatever the case… I’ll now be calling about my waitlist for that one extra day at BCV this summer!
 
I was surprised with a one day waitlist for September that came through yesterday!😊
 
They must be short staffed. I was told last week that my November waitlist matched but it still has not shown up yet as a reservation in my dashboard. Maybe they are focusing on modifying waitlists that have matched by how soon the resort reservation is.

Update: yep, the magic happened and the waitlist came through with zero notification! Given that I had only JUST set up the waitlist for my extra day @BCV a week or 2 ago, I had not even called… I logged on to members website to check something else and instead of seeing “waitlisted” by my list of reservations, I saw “BOOKED” and the good ol’ green check mark! I checked my email but show no signs of contact (not yet, anyway!) from DVC. I’ll call later today to confirm. After some prior mishaps w/ MS, and the fact they seem understaffed and aren’t always consulting members about details of their waitlists- I was too chicken to risk our existing 6nts reservation in a 2BR and didn’t list it as a “replacement” (I know… bad me) and so I made this waitlist ask as a separate request. Hoping MS will take pity on my doubting soul and somehow combine the two ressies or at least link ‘em somehow so we do NOT have to move! Less cleaning for them, right? Hoping and looking for the win-win! 🥴

You just need to contact MS (I can't remember whether chat or email will work or it has to be via phone), give them the two confirmation numbers, and ask them to please merge them into a single reservation. That's assuming they're exactly the same villa size and type (and view, if BCV had views). If they're different in any way - lockoff 2 BR vs. dedicated - then ask them to link them as a "continuing stay." Obviously, if they're different you'll have to move, but maybe they'll be able to get the new room ready early enough to facilitate the move.
