The Star Wars Spectacular starts and 9:00 and runs for 14 minutes. I am trying to plan a Sci Fi Dine In ADR for milkshakes around the show. Should I try for a 7:00 PM ADR? Would a 9:15 PM ADR work? Right now I have an 8:00 PM ADR, and I think that will cut it too close.

We had dinner at Sci Fi about two weeks ago and our ADR was 6:20 with Star Wars starting at 8pm. They were behind a bit when we checked in at a little after 6pm and we ended up getting sat around 6:40pm. Time stamp on pics shows us being done around 7:30pm and we had no problem finding a good spot right in the middle front for the show. That's with a full meal as opposed shakes and the restaurant running a bit behind with ADR's. I think 8pm would be pushing it a bit, especially if they are running behind on getting people sat. I also think 9:15 would not allow you to get there in time since the show would not be over until that time and you would have to swim like a salmon to go against the current of people trying to exit as you are trying to get to Sci Fi. I would try for a time between 7 but before 8 IMO.

Thanks so much for sharing your experience. I need to keep looking for a reservation closer to 7:00 PM!

I am still searching for a 7:00- 7:30 PM ADR. I did let the 8:00 PM go and grabbed a 9:30 PM ADR. That would give us 15 minutes to make our way over to Sci Fi after the Star Wars Spectacular. I'm not sure I want to stay up that late though because we are doing MK at 8:00 AM the next morning. Originally I had a 5:30 PM ADR but I had to push everything back once I got DD's tournament schedule. We'll be eating around the World Showcase in Epcot that afternoon, and we'd be too full for milkshakes at 5:30!

I know the title meant ADR. But I read it and my overloaded teacher brain said "awww I wish one of my ARDs included a Disney Sci-if meal and Star Wars fireworks! "

That is hilarious! My over tired teacher brain typed ARD instead of ADR! Ha! Thanks for picking up on that. One more quarter to go...one more quarter to go.

I am REALLY driving myself crazy! Our schedule is not very flexible because we are in WDW for DD's softball tournament and have to work around game times.

I have had Sci-Fi ADRs for milkshakes for the following times:

4/12
4:30 (too early, will be too full from Epcot F & G food kiosks)
8:00 (cutting it too close to get good spots for Star Wars Galactic fireworks show, which starts at 9 PM)
9:25 (might work, but if they add a 2nd Fantasmic for Easter Week, we'd want to see it and do Sci-Fi earlier)
7:25 (JUST GOT THIS ONE!!! It may be a keeper!)

4/13
6:10 (will be at MK that day and really don't want to leave that early just for milkshakes)

All this because DH has never been to Sci-Fi and I want him to see the inside of the coolest restaurant in WDW!

Milkshake after F&W wow you are ambitious LOL!!

The difficulty of moving our SciFi ADR surprised me. Had no idea it had gotten so popular in the past few years. Took me a week to get the time I wanted!

Have fun! We arrive on 4/12.

If you just want milkshakes another option would be the tune in lounge. You wouldn't need reservations and can just grab one when you have time.

Has to be Sci-Fi because DH has never been inside, but that's a great tip!

I know...we may explode right in the middle of Sci-Fi. DH said he may just want a salad verses a milk shake! We'll have to see how we feel the day of. The plan is to do the F & G kiosks as a late lunch/early dinner from 2 - 4 and share the portions so we get to taste more things. I'll let you all know if we survive!
