Seeing this thread again stirred my memory..
Early 1960 my dad got a notion to learn to drive and buy a CHEAP car. So he went to a driving school and then bought an old Rambler. It must have been a first generation because it looked like the blue car, only that it was white and a 2 door station wagon. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rambler_American. Of course, they don't make them anymore but the old ones became stock cars, from what I read here.
I remember the floorboards in the back were rusted through when he first bought it. You could see the road from the inside. Talk about the Flintstones...He did get it repaired.
