On our way to Orlando two weeks ago we passed a large conversion van on I-95 South. There were several children in the back sections and the parents were in the front. One small child, probably 2-3 years old was in the very rear of the van at the doors, just standing back there waving at people. I don't know anything about those vans, but I certainly hope there was not a way for him to open those doors from the inside, either way it was not a safe place for him.

Always sad to see that, kids loose in a vehicle. Really makes you wonder what the heck is wrong with the parents. I wish they would all get pulled over and given tickets to shape them up. Sad.

Ugh! That bothers me. What if an accident had occurred and you know what happened to that child. A completely senseless and preventable thing... Such a shame people don't take some simple steps to keep their children safe! :(

When I was a kid, my parents never buckled me up. Of course, that was back in the 60's and 70's, and I really don't remember anybody buckling their kids up. Or themselves for that matter.

But, I really thought people had smartened up since then. It makes me cringe when I see a kid bouncing around the car or sitting on someone's lap.

::yes:: ::yes::

Over 43,000 lives were lost on America's highways last year. People need to get it through their heads that being on the road is serious business.::yes::

We saw a man on a motorcycle with a child sitting in front of him with NO HELMET on! This was on I-5 a little north of Seattle. What a moron!

Imagine here in Italy where people place an infant between 2 adults on a scooter! :eek: Some even drive cars with babies in their laps. Nobody uses carseats.

I hope that child's parents have him/her in a car seat now. So very dangerous :(

I hate when I see the station wagons with the rear facing 3rd row seats. I was behind one the other day, and two kids about 10-13 years old were in that seat. I kept thinking "My God, what if this car gets rear-ended? There is nothing but a piece of metal between these kids and the impact."

My blood boils when I see kids not belted in! Sure, we were not belted as kids, but my parents generation and older were IGNORANT to highway fatalities. We are not only more informed on the dangers of not being belted, but it is a LAW in most states!

I almost fainted the first time I saw people riding in the back of a pickup truck here in Georgia.........OMG!
Then I saw a load of them going 75mph on 1-75.
So very dangerous!
:eek:
