Hey everyone-- I have a (hopefully) quick question. DH and I are expecting our first DD in about a month
and are trying to make sure we have everything we really need for the baby and don't go out wasting money on things we won't use, and don't end up having to go out and buy something our first week out because we found out it was a necessity. Our baby showers are now officially all over, so I'm not expecting to receive any more gifts, so this is our list of things we have...
Crib
Co-sleeper
Dresser
Changing Table (I know, not a necessity, but DH really wanted one)
Stroller
lots of onesies and sleepers mostly 0-3 months with a few newborn and 6-9 month, as well as booties, socks, mittens and hats
Baby bathtub
Baby "Gym"
Boppy Pillow
Vibrating bouncy seat
Diapers (2 packs of newborn... several size 1 and 2)
Wipes (TONS of them
)
Butt cream
A & D ointment
baby wash, lotion, oil, powder ect
5-6 Thick blankets
4 receiving blankets
2 Swaddle Me swaddling blankets
3 Dr Brown's Bottles
Toys and teething rings
Nasal aspirator
Medicine spoon
Large Diaper Bag
Things I know we still need (correct me if i'm wrong
)
Car Seat (this is our big one and we will have it by next weekend)
Pack N Play (this will be what she sleeps in while DH sleeps during the day and I'm working from home)
First Aid Kit (with Thermometer, nail clippers, ect)
pad for the changing table
burp cloths (thinking cloth diapers??)
Bath towels
Wash Cloths
Small Diaper Bag
Baby Tylenol
A diaper Pail (can we just use a trashcan by the changing table??)
Nursing necessities- bras, pads, pump, bottles and storage system for expressed milk (I work both in home and travel for several hours a day.. will need to pump once I return to work full time)
Sling
Baby Biorn (i'd love to get the Ergo, but I think it's out of our price range
)
sleep positioner (to kep baby on her back)
What am I missing for her first month of life? What do I have on here that we really won't use? It's feeling like I'm getting close... our nursery furniture finally arrived this week and DH put the stroller together, so I REALLY feel like it's getting close
but I'm nervous that we're not ready (are you ever REALLY ready LOL) and there's still so much to do and so much that we need (Car Seat is our biggest of course LOL.. can't really get home from the hospital w/out it!
)
TIA

Britax) really don't accomodate newborns, even if the weight limits say they do.
Here's an example of what I am talking about in case you've never heard of a sleep sack:
