Oh, I know where that is! Not too far from where I am.
February here was great...nice & cold, little to no humidity, I loved it. It was perfect moving-in & exploring a new city weather.
I know what you mean. My family was visiting last week & we went to New Orleans last Monday. We were dying, it was just so dang hot & humid. It rained a bit & we figured it would cool us off a bit, but nope, it was that hot, nasty rain & afterwards the humidity was through the roof. My parents are now convinced that it is much more humid here then in Florida.
The end of hurricane season is always the best. I'm really hoping for a hurricane free year (knock on wood!)
We, too, had several rain showers while visiting N.O. I stupidly put on my Mickey rain coat thinking it would keep me dry while walking around the Quarter. Well, the showers didn't last too long, thank goodness. But it turns out I "glistened" so much inside the darn thing that I was just soggy - more than if I'd braved the showers.

I'm sending prayers up that we have a hurricane free year, too! Gustav knocked down 15 very old, very large oak trees on our property last year (including 1 on top of my car, 1 on my daughter's car, and 1 through our guest house). It was devastating. I'm completely paranoid about trees falling whenever a stiff wind picks up now.
