My early July trip was moved from CBR to an 1 BR at Old Key West and we’re thinking about going over 4th of July. We plan to spend a lot of time relaxing around the pool and visiting Disney Springs in the evenings but we’d also like to make a couple of day trips and I’m looking for suggestions.

On one day we’d like to drive over to somewhere on the East coast. We’ve already visited (and enjoyed) St Augustine several times and have no interest in KSC, none, not even a little bit. DH enjoys the great outdoors and I love a beach, especially if there’s a great seafood place beachside.

Any recommendations for a spring with swimming and/or canoeing? I’d prefer to pay an entrance fee if that will help with crowds.

We’re a couple in our early 60s.

Thanks!

I know u said no KSC. But if u are around when spacex launches it is worth the trip. And nowadays they launch about every week.😁

My parents are in their late 60s and they spend the winters in Melbourne. There's a quaint downtown area with shops and dining, and just across the bridge are the beaches. I believe its technically the "Space Coast" region still, so the beach is just like Cocoa Beach, which is another area with some shopping and dining. Ichabod's is an awesome seafood place near where they stay, just a drive over the bridge from the beach and close to downtown. We also like the Mansion which is a unique restaurant in the same area.

I have family in the New Smyrna Beach area. Flagler Ave is fun, nice beaches, and probably slightly closer. Also not far from Daytona.

Have you been to the gulf side? I like the beaches there better than the east coast, especially for swimming. Clearwater Beach is my favorite because of all the options (tons of great seafood, I dream about Cooter's!), and John's Pass in Madeira Beach is fun too, but may be a little further if you have to commute back to WDW.
