My DD15 and I will be in Toronto for 3 nights in July. We're staying at the Sheraton Eaton Centre. We have plans for 2 of the nights: Bon Jovi at the Molson Amphitheatre and The Lion King.

Any suggestions for things to do during the day or for our 3rd night?

Welcome all suggestions... thanks

Hi!

I don't have specific things in mind right now but I just wanted to thank you for coming, given some of the odd press that has been made available about us of late.

Please feel free to e-mail me if you have any questions. I live and work in downtown Toronto and can give great restaurant recommendations!

Go up in the CN tower. Great view!
Also, there is an island you can ferry over to that's really neat and relaxing, no cars, like a big public park. Don't know the name but have been there twice.

Hi Sonya,

They are just called the Toronto Islands and are divided into three... Hanlans Point, Centre Island and Wards Island.

Hanlans is mostly parkland for picnicing and sports, biking etc... Wards is largly residential, Centre Island has a neat little amusement park known as Centreville and is where most people go.

You can walk from one to the other and all are accessable from the same ferry docks at the foot of Bay Street.

Go Shopping!

You can hit the Eaton Centre, Queens Quay, Go to Chinatown, Kensington Market, The Fashion District along Spadina.

If the Jays are in town, Catch a Game!

Too bad you won't be here for the Stones!

They are playing July 30th, along with a few other bands!

Have a great time!

And no, you don't need to bring a mask!

Toronto has a great museum, The Royal Ontario Museum or ROM. Right beside it is the planetarium. There is also the Science Centre with it's IMAX theater. Casa Loma is a really beautiful house that is almost like a castle and is very interesting to tour. Ontario Place is a great place to visit for the day. It is right on the Lake and has an IMAX,paddle boats, and a great water park. There is also Paramont Canada's Wonderland if you like rides.
If you pop over to the Canadian Board here on the DIS, I'm sure you'll get lots of help!

I'm not scared! I was there in April right after WHO issued the travel advisory... overreaction IMO. My co-workers did enjoy bringing me masks to wear though and giving me a hard time when I returned (do you feel bad? uh oh I hope you don't have SARS!)

I love Toronto! And I love Bon Jovi! I can't wait! Thanks for all of your suggestions.

The planetarium is no longer open. I also think the CN Tower is a great place to visit, there's a mini put at the base that you can play as well. The Molson Amphitheatre is at Ontario Place, so plan to spend some time there before the concert.

Shopping on Queen Street is always lots of fun. It's a very retro type of area.

What exactly are your dates so we can check and see what else is going on at that time.

I was just being phashisishishish!(sp)LOL!

There is also the Yorkville Area, Bay & Bloor. Some nice shopping and cute bistros and such!

Enjoy your trip!

Our dates are Jul 17-20. Thanks everyone!!!

I still regret that we didn't take the extra time to go into Toronto a few years back when we visited Niagara Falls Canada. How far exactly is it? I know we could see it from the Lake...at least I'm thinking it was Toronto we saw.

I always enjoy the Skydome and Cn tower. Toronto is about 30 from Falls my Dh and I have done it last few years and had a fun day.

I donno...Maybe:

1) Wish I was at WDW
2) Wish I was at DL
3) Wish I was at DL Paris
...
10) Just glad I made it though without a cough!;)

The science center is terrific...
Have fun.
