We will be visiting relatives in Buffalo, NY this summer. Last year after visiting we spent a weekend in Niagara Falls--the Canadian side. This year we thought we might try Toronto. What do you suggest we do while there? We have 3 boys ages 10, 8, 5 who all play hockey...so a trip to the Hockey Hall of Fame will be done for sure.

TIA

You might look at getting a CityPass http://www.citypass.com which includes admission to the CN Tower, Casa Loma (a castle), the Royal Ontario Museum, the Ontario Science Center and the Toronto Zoo. The pass is valid for 9 days--and if you get to all that stuff, you will see a lot!
In your trip to Niagara Falls, did you get to wine country or Niagara-on-the-Lake?

While we were visiting Toronto, we went to see the Toronto Zoo which is amazing (very large with a lot of walking). We also went to the Battah Shoe Museum and Casa Loma. I'm sure if you find a website for Tourism Toronto, you will find many things to do.

Hope you have a great vacation!

If you're asking on the budget board because you'd like less expensive ideas;

1) walking through China town
2) riding the TTC / subway/ ferry to the island
3) there are a number of free gardens/ conservatories throughout the city

Of course, depending on the city you come from, none of these may be novel to your family!

The science centre is also a lot of fun.

We were there last summer visiting BIL and his family in Clarence. We took our 4 kids (ages 13, 12, 10 and 8, 2 boys 2 girls) to the Ontario Science Center. I went there as a kid and LOVED it - just had to bring my kids. We all had a blast. So many hands-on exhibits. That's all we did the entire day. We're from the Philly area, and it's the Franklin Institute on steriods.

Things my son loved......
We flew into Buffalo...took a tour under the Canadian falls.
Drove to Toronto.
Took the Subway downtown to the Skydome and saw a Blue Jays baseball game. Went to the top of the CN tower. Had pictures taken with the mountie and the moose at the bottom.
Ds loved Harvey's Hamburgers and French fries. I liked the poutin.
Went to the Royal Ontario Museum and the Ontario Science Center.
Went to the danforth as there was a Greek street festival going on when we were there. Saw street entertainers , greek dancers etc, and had the best Greek food ever.

OH, I forgot we spent a whole day at the Toronto Zoo.
We have been to zoos all over the US and the Toronto zoo is amazing be prepared to spend a whole day, Same goes for the museum and the science center... there is so much to see that you need a whole day.

-Canada's Wonderland
-Ontario Science Centre (my kids LOVE this)
-Toronto Zoo
-BlueJays game
-CNE if its in town then

Just going to the Hockey Hall of Fame makes a trip to Toronto worth it...beautiful facility.

Also consider a behind-the-scenes tour of the Air Canada Centre where the Leafs play. We did this on our last trip to Toronto and it was a fun tour...got to see a lot of areas where players go, including down on the bench. My son really enjoyed hanging over the same boards the players do!

Just wanted to add that Canadas Wonderland can get quite congested, lots of LONG waits! If you are all about Disney style parks, CW is definatley NOT the same.... We went last year and we didn't enjoy ourselves very much, but I know to each their own.....

Forgot to mention this in my earlier post, the Ontario Science Centre has a Harry Potter exhibition on right now. If your kids are HP fans, they might enjoy it. And, no 5 hour waits!
